The last 2 helmets that we ordered on Amazon specifically called out that they were NOT DOT certified on the packaging when we received them but it did NOT call it out on the product page. This one IS certified and you can really tell a difference between this and the last 2. This one is substantially thicker as far as the padding inside. I recently got a moped and this 3/4 helmet has just the appearance and style that I like. The color scheme is cute and the fit and comfort is excellent. Its size is just perfect and fits and secures onto my head well. All the interior lining and ear caps are well made and very plush. Got this helmet for my wife. She says the fit is comfortable and she likes the quick release for the chin strap. The color is really vibrant and has a little metal flake it in (it really "pops" in the sun). The clear shield articulates well, seems to click into the lower position and stays in any position in-between by just moving it (it does not lock into place for any position between fully up and fully down but has enough resistance to stay put). The helmet I received weighed in at 1070 g for some reason. The helmet itself says it should way between 1150 g + or - 50 g so I'm not sure if it's missing some things or my scale is off. The part of the helmet that covers the ears is removable by unsnapping two snaps and sliding the piece out. this allows for more airflow around the wearers ears and makes wearing the helmet a bit less "restrictive" around the head, it also allows more sound to be heard (not that keeping the ear flaps in place deadens any noise it's just something my wife noticed). There is no way to remove the inner liner for cleaning or replacement. It does feel extremely soft to the touch and my wife had no complaints about the fit or feel of the helmet. I can't seem to find a way to remove the outer shield for replacement or cleaning. The "owners manual" that comes in the box is worthless in regards to the functions of the helmet. There also appears to be two sticky type things that came in the box (I have no idea what they are for). As a side note, I noticed there appears to be no way to attach a communications system to this helmet without using 3m tape (As there is no way to force anything between the outer shell and the inner liner). But even if you are going to do that the area where the ear pods would go is not large enough for anything more then "ear bud" size and there is no way to route any wires inside the helmet. I'm sure you could do it with some finagling, and lots of tape, but it certainly wouldn't look pretty. There are no external vents to the helmet and it does tend to get a little warm while riding with it, especially with the visor down. The visor does do a good job of keeping the wind out of my wife's eyes. My wife's head trends more to the round dimension then oval and if you have any oval shape in your head I'd look elsewhere for a better fitting helmet. This is certainly a "pretty" looking helmet and the color is definitely eye catching. Just realize it's limitations and you will have yourself a pretty nice looking helmet. ... show more

This helmet fits great and looks awesome. I really like the vintage vibe that it gives. I am glad that you have the option to remove the ear covers, as that was not something I liked when I first put it on. It dampens the sound around you and I am hard of hearing on one side, so I need to be able to hear as much as possible. There is a lot of padding, so this fits well without being too tight. The overall quality is excellent, and I think this should last a long time with daily use. The visor goes up and down with no problem and doesn’t distort your view. This is a fantastic scooter helmet. This helmet provides a windscreen that goes up and down with ease. This helmet fits nicely around your head and has comfortable ear protection for reduced noise as well. I liked the quality of the lining of this helmet and the fell on my head.
