I like how these are composition books but will lay flat to write on. The smaller size is convenient for carrying in my bag. Paper is smooth and I like the multi colored spines.

These have basic lined paper, with decent weight, and thick enough craft paper covers that I feel confident they’ll survive going in and out of my backpack on a trip, and should serve well as travel journals. I like the different colored spines as a way to keep track of which one I’m currently using. These feel expensive for 6 notebooks, where as if it had been as listed, 6 of each of the six colors it would be a really good deal. If the cost was more in line with the product, or the description had been accurate about the fact you get just SIX journals, one each with spines in six different colors, and have no problem giving these a four star review. ... show more

For how inexpensive these notebooks are, I am very impressed they handle everything I throw at them except sharpie which is pretty typical. Minimal ghosting and bleed through. If you are using gel pens, pencils, ballpoints, or brush markers, these notebooks will hold up well. Fountain pens will be ok if you are using finer nibs and ink that is not super wet.
