  • Spiral bound, very large book
Format: Paperback
This is complete and will bound with fingerings. Spiral bound for an easy set on the music lyre. Perfect.

  • This book is Huge, but I love playing out of it
Format: Paperback
I had acquired a copy of Moonlight Sonata 1st Mvmt at Ome point, but it was getting tired and I wanted to find the same copy. I also want to try my hand on the 3rd Mvmt. I was pretty sure my copy of the 1st Mvmt came from this set, and I was right. This is a Huge book, like others have said. It does fit on my music desk, but I do have a grand piano. I'm not a big fan of this plastic ring binding, but I'm not sure how else they could put everything together in one volume. Having said that, taking a bit of care with it, it's holding up just fine so far. One advantage of this binding is that the music lays flat on the music desk. But I do worry about the long-term longevity of the binding. Anyway, it is well worth it to purchase this. Buying single sonatas can run $8 - $15 ea., and with this you get them all for under $40, so it just made sense to buy this. I would definitely recommend others to purchase this. ... show more

  • Nice in very way.
Format: Paperback
This is a good collection. Years ago, I had a copy edited by Artur Schnabel which was a finer and more elegant publication; sadly it is no longer in print. This version is no nonsense - spend the money and play.

  • Wonderful Value
Format: Paperback
This collection is wonderful. A great price, well put together and, because of the spiral binding, it sits perfectly on the music stand. A++

  • An excellent collection, and even better when split into manageable portions An excellent collection, and even better when split into manageable portions
Format: Paperback
It's great to have all the Beethoven sonatas in one place, but I agree with the reviewers who find the volume cumbersome. And although the 2" comb binding is large enough to hold all the pages, it's difficult to play music near the beginning and near the end of the volume because the pages don't turn easily when right against the binding. With some help from my local office supply store (Staples) I was able to divide this bulky volume into three parts, each bound with a ¾" diameter comb. I find it much easier to use, handle and store in this form. See photo. ... show more

  • Very practical
Format: Paperback
Nice to have all the sonatas in one volume. Though the tome is a couple of inches thick and somewhat awkward to tote around, once you set it on the piano music rack it is easy to turn the pages thanks to the spiral binding (moreso than with a hard binding). I like the Schirmer edition; the fingering suggestions are generally good (one can always quibble) and the foot notes are very helpful to aid in interpretation. The music itself is. . . well, what can you say. ... show more

Just wish it was in about 4 different books because it's as thick as a brick.
