The drawcord waist and tab adjustable leg cuffs ensure the elements are locked out for all day comfort. Columbia offers these women’s winter waterproof pants in two colors and multiple sizes. Available in extended sizing. Regular Fit. To ensure you get the right size, please refer to our sizing chart. To measure the waist correctly, measure around your natural waistline, allowing the tape measure to sit comfortably. For the hips, measure around the fullest part of your hips. Perfect for our trip to Iceland! We were able to do a glacier hike in the rain and get close to waterfalls while staying warm and dry. I am 5'3 and usually wear size 10. The medium short pants were the perfect length, and had plenty of stretch in the waistband, but no give in the thigh or hip area. The large short were baggy in the legs, but gave me the mobility that I needed for hiking and room to layer underneath. I was able to pull them over my pants and boots from inside our rental vehicle.     • Waterproof and fit fine even for someone 5 feet tall

Size/Length: I'm only 5 feet tall and even though these were too long for me I will not be taking any stars away because it did fit as expected and I knew based off other reviews and the product details that they would be long. However the length of these caused me zero problems. The area between the waist and inseam is very large. I basically wore these like high waisted pants and they were totally comfortable and I could move around. Also the bottoms have some Velcro so you can close them off. I just closed them off over my hiking boots and they didn't drag on the floor at all. I typically wear a size 0-2. I also got these in a size S and on my waist they fit alright but since I was wearing them high waisted the S was too large around my naval. I stuck with the XS which fit much better above my waist. Waterproof: They are waterproof for sure. When I received these I ran some water on one of the legs in the sink and didn't see any moisture get through or the pants get damp. So it passed my test and I took them with me to Iceland where I wore them in an intense rainstorm. I had a waterproof jacket, these pants, and hiking boots. Everything else I was wearing that was "water resistant" (my gloves and hat) were wet. Very wet. My friends were wearing water resistant stuff and they were wet. These pants totally kept all of the water off of me. Noise: Yes these are loud when you walk but its expected with the material and since these are outdoor pants it's not a problem for me. The sizing on these is a little frustrating. I bought a size xl and I think I'm currently size 14 with pandemic weight. Since all indonis walk the dog rain or shine, I thought having some rain pants would make sense, especially if they go right over my pants. For this reason, I might have erred towards a larger size. The waist is mostly held up by an inner string tie plus an elastic. It's pretty comfortable and not bulky at the waistline, but I'm having trouble keeping them up even tightening them with the string. They are also too long for me, which I anticipated because I am only 5'2". I wish there was a better way to roll these up. If they had a roll tab they would be perfect. Right now, I try to "peg" them as in the old days or stuff them into my boots. They keep me dry and are a nice weight. I wore them in the snow the other day with fleece leggings underneath and I thought they were perfect for warmth. I just wish they fit better, but I'm not sure a large would have done the job (been too small). ... show more

These pants are great, I need them for camping! However, the pants that I ordered arrived in the wrong size, without a tag, and smell like Tide detergent. They were crumbled up and shipped in a clear plastic bag with a label slapped on it. It's clear that someone used them and returned them. I'm pretty unhappy that Amazon would send me used pants, but I'm happy that they're at least clean, and the size that arrived actually fits well. I'm keeping them. These are great! Working on a horse farm in all kinds of weather, these are big enough to slide over another pair of pants or breeches to keep me dry. They have zero fill/insulation, so great for rainy weather on warmer days. The pants in a L are big enough to fit over my regular jeans or leggings. The bottom leg openings are big enough to pull over boots and shoes. As others noted, the velcro at the bottom of the leg openings is much too short to be useful. It pulls in the wide opening no more than 2". Great maybe if you are in ski boots but not entirely helpful in less clunky footwear. The design would be a lot better if the strip was longer. Also, even for me at 5'6" height, these are about 3" too long! Crazy long and no way to shorten them. I'm keeping the pants for emergencies and when hiking where there is a ton of rain and wind. But I think there are better options out there. Plus these are crackly-noisy. ... show more

I have never needed snow pants, or storm surge pants. I didn't really want these, figuring they would never be used. I was very, very wrong. These pants are excellent. Waterproof, roomy enough to comfortably hike in, and will keep you warm. I got one size larger than I normally wear so I could slide them over my jeans or thermal ware. With these intrepid little pants I climbed a volcano in a snowstorm, hiked across deep snow to frozen waterfalls, and hacked out a path in snow drifts for my car. These pants made me feel like a super hero. I was the intrepid hiker, warm and toasty. They are not sexy, because they're designed to keep you warm and dry. They make a swishy sound when you walk up, down, and all around. They will make your adventure a dream, keep you dry and warm, and help you go to places a lot of people have not gone before. Worth every penny. I will not travel anywhere rainy or snowy for outdoor adventures without them. ... show more

I haven't used them yet as my holiday to Iceland was postponed. However they look fine ( not rain pants ) . Easy to get on over my hiking boots . Good quality. The fit is good . I have a 28"waist and 35"hips .
