While these aren't as padded and comfortable as my previous pair of Columbia boots they make up for it in other areas. These boots are much warmer, stylish and are more waterproof. They are still pretty comfortable, but not as padded as my other ones. The last time I wore them it was a warmer, snowy and slushy day. My feet stayed completely dry. I have feet that are a little wider than normal, but had no trouble with the width. I normally wear a size 9.5, but ordered a 10 so I'd have room for thicker socks. The 10 seemed a little big even with thicker socks so I then ordered a 9.5 to be sure I had the right size. The 9.5 fit with thicker socks, but felt too tight in the toe box for my liking. I would say these run pretty true to size, but if you like a little more room for winter/thicker socks maybe go a half size up. If I didn't have feet that are a little wide the 9.5 would have been fine. I hope this helps someone else so you don't have to order two different sizes like I did. I did also measure my foot before ordering, but when the sizes are so similar in length it wasn't super helpful.

I purchased the Columbia Women's Ice Maiden II Snow Boot (8.5 B(M) US, Shale/Northern Lights) . The fit was true to size. There is space for wearing with heavy layers but I was able to use on the way to work with layers that were not as bulky by using thick socks. I did have to tighten the laces more. I wore these during a very windy, cold and wet camping trip and I was warm and dry the entire time. I really love the color. The shoe comes with lavender laces but also includes a dark grey lace if you want to switch it out. The shoe does not have the fur all on the inside, but the inside is warm and soft. The entire shoe is very comfy and lightweight. While these fit well, I also think a gel insert for my arch might work. The inside is almost completely flat so you can adjust for your foot shape needs. Also, if you have flat feet, it would be easy to add a heel insert, but there IS a very tiny arch inside. I appreciate that these are very easy to get on and off. This purchase was about 80.00 via prime in 2017, and I am really glad I made the investment. The coldest that it has been so far this winter (2017-2018) has been 17 F with a feel like 4 F. I did feel a little numb/cold when wearing on cold days with only regular thick socks, once I pulled out the wool socks my feet toasted right up.

I ordered half size up, but probably didn’t need to. However, it’s not super cold in Michigan yet. Once I’m in thicker socks, they will fit better in the toe. They are narrow, which is perfect for me. If you have wide feet, these are probably not going to be comfortable. I am please with them on day one. They are comfortable & warm. I got the purple’ish with pink pair. Great price!

I bought the same size as my old Columbia hiking boots. I have plenty of toe room and they are so comfy and warm. The heel is not as snug as I would like, but I like that I can fit another pair of socks in there. They arrived early, but the day after 12 inches of snow! In -5 weather, I don't go out without them. Too cold to see if they are water proof. If they are as good as my other Columbia boots, I will be very happy!

These are by far the best winter boots I’ve owned (I’m 57) and I’m so glad I found them! I got them mainly for going on walks around the neighborhood and running errands. I was hoping for warmth, good grip on ice, some arch support, comfortable walking, and a light weight feel. As many other reviews have noted, these fit the bill and then some! They tick all my boxes and I enjoy wearing them! A few notes: - I normally wear an 8 1/2 in shoes, occasionally a 9, and ordered the boot in size 9. It’s perfect! - With these boots I can wear a standard weight cotton sock or boot sock and they fit well either way. I just pull the laces a bit tighter with a thinner sock. The ability to adjust with laces is a great feature, and also makes it easy to tuck in pant legs. Much better than many zip boots. - I need a bit more arch support for back & knee issues so I inserted a simple Dr. Scholl’s women’s 1/2 arch support (the kind that only goes under arch & heal instead of the whole foot). There is plenty of room and it’s worked perfectly. Very comfortable!
