Great comfy shoe, it's not heavy, and it appears very durable. I am a rural mail carrier, and they have been great to keep water out, and, the slip resistance is good. They are true to size, and I've been pleased with them so far. They're not clunky and look very nice.

My go to hiking boot used to be the Columbia Trailstorm but since they stopped making those I had to find a new pair. These are pretty similar to the Trailstorm, they’re still lightweight and feel like a perfect mashup of hiking boot and tennis shoe. They’re slightly shorter than the Trailstorm but the toe length on my normal size 7 fit just fine with mid weight wool socks. They’re definitely waterproof and mud wipes off easily. So far they’re holding up well and don’t look scratched up or old despite wearing them most of the late summer-early winter and putting LOTS of hiking miles on them. The first couple times of wearing them they did cause some soreness right above my ankles on the shin bone on the outer side of the leg, from where the top lace sits and caused the tongue to press on that spot. It wasn’t terrible but I definitely felt and had to loosen my laces, after about 2-3 wears it feels perfect and causes no soreness. So I do think these require a little breaking in, when I first tried them on I really wasn’t sure if I liked them but I had been so spoiled by the comfort of the Trailstorm that I decided to just give them a try.     • FINALLY FOUND 'THE' BOOT!

I am almost 75 years old and I wanted a pair of snow boots that are COMFORTABLE. (Is that too much to ask?) I tried three other kinds - ALL of them were uncomfortable - and finally came upon these at a store in town but they were too expensive and very plain. I was delighted to find cuter ones cheaper here and love the turquoise accents on them. PLUS THEY FIT WELL AND ARE COMFORTABLE! I know they're hiking boots, but they are water resistant and fit well. My toes are not squeezed, and the heel doesn't slip when I walk. The only two concerns are that hopefully the metal fasteners for the laces won't eventually wear through the matching laces, and the footbed could be cushier. I bought inserts for that, and they are quite comfy now. With inserts that are a bit thick I wear a thinner sock but that's ok. SO HAPPY to have finally found these and I even wear them for everyday! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The quality of these Columbia boots are made very well. I can’t speak for whether their waterproof yet as I did not take them near any water. I did take them on a 6 mile hike right from get go. They were very comfortable except a little tight in the toe box however, my toes felt comfortable, kind of. I do feel like you do have to break them and I know other people said that they didn’t have to break them in, but maybe it’s just me. I definitely recommend wearing them out and about before you take them on a long hike as I ended up getting a blister on one of my toes. But that was a minor thing. Everything else felt great the questioning of the shoe the way it supported your feet and ankle felt very stable. At the end of the walk, my feet were not tired and I didn’t notice the blister until I took the shoes off. I have purchased other hiking shoes on Amazon one recently I had to send back immediately and one that used to give me a blisters horribly. I love my long hikes and definitely need a good hiking shoe that’s going to get me through and be comforting to my feet. These get the job done but again I still think I need to break them in a bit more just on my left foot. They seem like because the way they are made that they might also be very good in the snow as well. They have great traction on the bottom and I live in the mountains so I will be trying them out during the winter. ... show more

Very comfortable! I walk 12k-16k steps a day; these replace my Merrill's as my primary walking shoe. Of note: 1. they seem to run a little big 2. the laces will untie of not double-knotted 3. The brown is much more of a muddier color than what is pictured.
