Background: I work at a dog boarding facility, where I'm always on feet. I spend roughly 6 hours of my day walking dogs in the woods, along a trail by our facility. Whether it's 15 or 60 degrees, snowing, raining or sunshine, my dogs and I are out in it. At the end of a shift, I've usually walked 8-9 miles. I purchased these boots because with winter coming, I needed boots that would keep my feet warm, comfortable, and DRY. The boots fit true-to-size with enough room that you can wear thick socks if you need to, and still be comfortable. I like the mid-rise, not only does it provide a little extra support, but also keep ankle biters away from my ankles (just kidding!). The boots don't breathe very well, but since these will be fall/winter boots, that doesn't bother me too much since my feet are kept warm. The waterproofing has been the most useful, as I work in all weather and sometimes our fields will flood after heavy rain. Over the past few weeks of near-daily wear (and a few days of flooding), my feet are still dry! For $50, these have been a great purchase and I can see them lasting for seasons to come.

I just received these boots today-they came in exactly 2 days as promised so that was great since we are going on a big hike tomorrow. They don't look like the leather I am used to like real heavy duty leather. They look more like a leather blend since they are so light and thin. I tried them on and they fit well but I don't feel any cushion at all -just feels like I am standing on a hard wood floor. Maybe once I start walking and they break in I will feel some bounce. I will let you know after the hike how they performed. I am hoping the "energy return" part will come through. .....ok I am back to complete the review after the hike....I have to say I give these 5 stars now...they came through with exactly what they say they do-very comfortable, a good size toe box and very lightweight. I felt like an astronaut wearing them but they provided the support and cushioning they claimed, although I couldn't really feel the cushion inside the boot there was no fatigue at all after a 5 mile hike. These boots win my vote! I def recommend-oh and they stayed tied the whole way!

I bought these for all the right reasons. The price was right, the brand was well known, they were waterproof, and they look great. So far these are not disappointing. I thought they were going to be narrow, but they fit perfectly. Haven’t tried the waterproof feature yet, Just breaking them in!

What a great boot! This is my first pair of boots EVER- I'm a total sneaker head. I know sneakers won't always cut it, especially if I want to start hiking more rugged trails. Most boots I found looked very masculine (not that I'm a girly girl) but these were a perfect medium. I originally ordered a 9- but they squeezed my feet pretty bad. They offered a W in 9 so I went ahead and ordered a 9W and returned the 9. PERFECT. All I needed, and they fit great! I though I would have to wear them a few days to break them in for our camping trip, but I really don't! They're not uncomfortable in the slightest. I deliver newspapers and I'm constantly on my feet. At the end of the night, they were not sore and no blisters. Can't wait to go hiking now!! Highly recommend.

I bought these shoes right before a camping trip with my family. We did a moderate hike every day and these shoes saved my life. There was no break-in period necessary and they were lightweight and comfortable. I was hiking in 95 degree weather, so with socks, they were too warm, but hiking was such a joy that I didn't notice. I bought Columbia medium weight cotton socks, which were great with the boot. I am so glad I returned a cheaper pair I bought from a local store. These Columbia are absolutely worth it. They clean up very easily and are waterproof.

I love these boots!! I read all the reviews and honestly I was nervous about them not fitting my feet comfortably due to the toe box concerns. But since Amazon has free returns on these, I gave them a try. I normally would wear 8.5 wide, but tried the size 9. When first put them on, I felt the toe box hit my big toe right on the nail/cuticle. But walked around in the house all day to give them a chance. They loosened up some, so I decided to keep them. Next day I went out with my Border Collie on our daily hike. They broke in beautifully! Liam wanted to play in the water so they got wet- but my feet stayed dry inside. I have been wearing them all day long since. They are incredibly comfortable!! I want to snag another pair when there is a sale!
