  • Warm, Light-Weigh, Boots
Size: 6 Wide Color: First Generation Black/Pebble
I really like these boots. They're a bit pricey, but Columbia brand usually holds up well. For me something that's well made, comfortable, and will last is usually worth paying a little more. They're lightweight and warm. I was replacing my Sperry duck boots after several years of use and wanted something a little warmer bc my feet would freeze when I wore them in snow. I like that they are fabric, but still waterproof. Most winter boots are usually a hard rubber, rigid, and don't have much flexibility, not these. I love that they're so much lighter weight. I think they're comfy, but they don't have the arch support you get from say a running shoe. One thing that should be noted is that these are narrow. I would say I don't have particularly narrow or wide feet. I usually wear the, "normal" size, e.g., I don't usually order wide or narrow shoes. If I had to pick one though my feet are on the wider side vs the narrow side. I debated if I should order a wide, and decided to based on other reviews that said these were narrow. I'm glad I ordered a wide they definitely would have been uncomfortable if I hadn't. I didn't love that they charged so much more for the wide though, but overall I'm really happy with my boots. They're really cute too. ... show more

A year prior to purchasing these shoes, I bought a $45 pair of mid-calf waterproof boots for my trip to Iceland. They served me well, but after a week of daily wear, I was limping because my feet were destroyed. This year, for my trip to Ireland, I knew I would be 3x more walking than I did in Ireland, so I decided to hunt for a pair of back up shoes. Style-wise, these Colombia boots seemed to fit what I had in mind—a tennis shoe that’s warm, waterproof and appropriate for walking and hiking. And, I was so happy that these delivered in all areas. I wore these shoes for an entire week in Ireland, and I have no complaints. I actually have delicate pinky toes that can get easily irritated even in fairly comfortable shoes. I also have poor circulation in my feet which can be painful in cold weather. These Colombia boots gave me no issues. They are light like tennis shoes, and just overall amazing. There were days in Ireland when there was wind and rain, but my feet stayed warm and dry as I was exposed to such weather. Size was just right. They were a bit snug with thick thermal socks, but not uncomfortable. Thermal socks were not needed though. I wore these every day of my one week trip. For size reference, I do have somewhat slender feet. I highly recommend. ... show more

  • These are Perfect - better than Sorel!
Size: 10 Color: First Generation Titanium Grey Steel/Gre...
I finally found the perfect winter boots! Let me start by saying I did a lot of reading reviews on every website imaginable before I bought these. These boots had mixed reviews - some hated them and some loved them. I have narrow feet so for the people who said these are good for narrow feet are spot on. I tried these boots on at Scheels before I bought them so I knew what size I needed. Winter boots just like running shoes should have one thumb width extra at end of boot/shoe. This allows for room for your feet to generate heat in boots and move in running shoes. Winter boots should not be too tight - space around your feet allows heat to be generated, it’s essential. Also important to note that my feet are always, and I mean ALWAYS cold. I really wanted the Sorel Joan of arctic boots - they are adorable and all my friends have them. But at $190 for a pair I just couldn’t do it. That’s too much money. I normally wear size 9 or 9.5, these boots are perfect for me in a size 10. I wore these every place I went for the first week to make sure they were comfortable and the fit was good - if I’m paying $100 for something I’m going to love it. I love the way they slip on - no need to tie and untie! They are super light weight - each boot only weighs less than 1lb, not bulky at all. My first long outdoor adventure with these boots was to a snow tubing park. It was cold - 20 degrees with windchills near zero. At first I worried my feet would freeze but after 3 hours outside my toes were toasty warm. ***Side note - one of my friends with the Sorel boots I wanted was tubing with us and her feet were freezing!*** These boots are PERFECT!! Light weight, super cute and comfy, plus they keep my feet warm! I Definitely recommend these boots! ... show more

  • Lightweight snow boots, great for slim calves
Size: 9 Color: First Generation Titanium Grey Steel/Gre...
It's hard to find boots of any kind that work for slim calves, so I was glad to find these snow boots--the adjustable lacing allows for a snug fit. In keeping with other reviews, I found that these run small in the foot. I tried 3 sizes and ended up keeping the largest (a full size larger than most of my other boots). For snow boots, they are surprisingly lightweight, and they have a pretty good grip. Note that they do have a more sneaker-like, flexible feel--which seemed different from other snow boots I've had, but which I've decided I like. But if you're looking for a boot that gives you more ankle and foot support, these are probably not for you. I found them warm enough for East Coast city walking; however, on a winter vacation in a colder, snowier mountain setting, my feet (in wool socks) did get cold after some time. Depending on your needs, you may want to account for wearing double socks in your sizing. The gray color is lovely--nice to have a lighter neutral than black that is not brown/taupe. I'm not wild about the look of the faux-fur lining (which is mottled brownish), but that's minor given the many other practical pluses of these boots for me. ... show more
