Columbia’s sizing is inconsistent. I am usually a size 10 but this medium fits too tight. Even their size 10s in different pants fit differently.

Best shorts ever. I'm a "apple" shaped and the waist band is comfortable due to it's width and not constricting, but does help smooth. I have the 5 inch inseam and the leg openings are enough so my legs are not like sausages but not so much that the legs billow. They do dry relatively quickly (as opposed to 100% cotton or denim) and the pockets can hold a smart phone during low intensity movement.
