  • Columbia Sun Shirt
Size: Medium Color: Sail
Great shirt. Runs a bit large so I ordered a medium which fits very well. Love the colour and that it offers sun protection.

  • Experienced Travelers Know This Shirt
Size: 3X Color: Sail
I have a couple, plus multiple copies of the short-sleeved version, which I have reviewed elsewhere on Amazon. The two differ only in that the long-sleeve version has -- wait for it -- long sleeves. Said sleeves have a strap attached halfway up the sleeve (inside) with a buttonhole. When the sleeve is rolled up about to the elbow, the strap can be buttoned to the the outside of the sleeve, keeping it rolled up. In practice, because the material is so silky and diaphanous, it will unroll and sag unless you fold -- not roll -- it, starting by just flipping the cuff up toward the elbow, and continuing to fold, up to the strap. To hit the high points: this is a dressy-looking shirt with a button-down collar. Quality is immaculate. The material is a 2-way stretch poly rip-stop, reasonably opaque in most colors (one of the greens lets your skin color show thru), light enough that it will dry easily even in the tropics. It has a rear vent all the way across the back, an ugly triangular "PFG" logo patch between the shoulder blades which can easily be removed without affecting the construction of the shirt, and ample pockets. In removing the patch, each stitch must be cut and teased apart without ever pulling on the threads with appreciable force (takes 5 minutes). You must not use your seam ripper the conventional way, or you will leave an area of fabric permanently damaged when the threads pull or the ripper snags. After one washing, the needle holes will close up. Dressy looking, rolls up 1.15" by 9" and, when unrolled, looks good enough to go out to a nice place, even without fretting about the wrinkles. Seems to tolerate DEET and (Sawyer) permethrin spray without problems. Has a UV protection rating. I have mostly worn mine for mosquito protection in malaria country -- so mostly in the evenings -- and cannot vouch for the efficacy of the sunburn protection. Oh, and comfy. ... show more

  • Light weight and Comfortable
Size: Medium Color: Carbon
Very comfortable, perfect for high temperature and humidity environs like Thailand and Southeast Asia. Quality is excellent, sun protection and roll up sleeves. True to size. Would definitely recommend. The darker navy blue is particularly nice.

  • Love these!
Size: 4X Tall Color: Carbon
Comfortable, good sleeve length, cool

  • Great overall, wish there was a smaller Tall size.
Size: Large Tall Color: Cool Grey
Great shirt - light weight, cool, high quality material and stitching. Size - it is known that this shirt runs very big and sizing down is required, but for taller falks the smallest offered size is LT that fits more like an XXLT. I wish Columbia would offer a size MT for this model or just fix the sizes. Color - Gray was much lighter than the image (search for 2024 cool gray), I guess colors changed but are still using the same names and some pictures are out of date in this listing. ... show more

  • An Incredibly Durable, Lightweight, Breathable and Good-Looking Shirt
Size: Large Color: Black
This shirt is an exceptional quality item, with a price, of course, to match. But having owned this shirt and others from Columbia in the same line, I can say that this is one of those items that I don't really mind paying the price premium because they are just so well built and last so long. In fact, I don't think I yet have had a Columbia shirt "wear out" on me even after 10 years of use in the outside hot sun. The fabric, if you have not had the chance to feel one yourself, is made of some strange "Stak Trek"-ish fabric that breathes incredibly well, and is light and thin. The color range, too, is fantastic, and unless you dump bleach on them, the color remains basically unchanged with normal washing even over years of washing cycles. There are pockets, flaps, pencil holders, cord cable management, etc. on almost all these shirts, and you'll never run out of places to put things. They're great for when you are doing things outdoors, but also when working on tasks in the house. And, they make great travel shirts, especially if you are going to be somewhere for a long time, because you can rinse them or wash them in a sink, hang them up, and they'll be dry by the morning. The price seems high, but they really are durable, functional and good-looking, so they are worth the price! Five stars. ... show more

  • a tale of two *very* different shirts
Size: X-Large Tall Color: Cool Grey
I couldn’t decide between Columbia “Blood and Guts” and Columbia “Tamiami” so I bought both. Now that I have the two shirts I am a bit embarrassed to admit how little I knew, how little my initial understanding of the extreme differences was pre-purchase. If you can’t tell the difference between the two shirts then I would accuse you of being the kinda guy who can’t tell the difference between Le Tigre, Blue Steel and Magnum! First off the Tamiami is a light-weight, breathable, open weave, moisture wicking sun shirt that stays cool in the sun and quick-dries whereas the “Blood and Guts” is a light-weight, breathable, open weave, moisture wicking sun shirt that stays cool in the sun, quick-dries and also has a slightly larger air flappy thing on the back. The kind of people who say it’s the exact same shirt are most likely on crazy pills! I like the Columbia PFG shirts slightly better than my WalMart RealTree fishing shirts because of better sizing. With Realtree they only have S,M,L ect. and size XL for me leaves my wrists getting sunburnt and if I lift my arms over my head I unintentionally flash a little skin and this attracts way more ladies than I have time to deal with! Columbia offers flesh concealing tall sizes which fit much better. At 6’3” and 210lbs (wow, twinsies with Donald Trump) size XL tall fits me perfectly. Thanks Columbia! ... show more
