Yesah, I'm older than dirt, have blond hair and blue eyes, and don't go to the dermatologist often enough. That has all changed recently. After 2 years of missing appointments, I decided to see a new dermo with a great reputation. That visit resulted in 4 nitrogen freezes and 2 biopsies. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) one of the biopsies identified a melanoma on my back. Fifty-five stitches and 2 weeks later the results showed clear margins, meaning that the melanoma had not extended beyond the removal site. Good news overall and something that might trigger you to make that appointment you've missed or been avoiding. It also resulted in me shopping for UPF hats and long-sleeve shirts with UPF protection. So I started shopping on Amazon looking for deals and avoiding several $50.00 shirt purchases. In this case I found this Columbia PFG Tamiami II shirt XXL in Sunset Red for $18.74. It offers UPF 40, wicking material, large oversized pockets, and can be machine washed. It's about as comfortable as you can get in a 105 degree humiture. Southwest Florida in the summer -- you gotta love it! Now that I'm happy with the first one, I can order 4 more to cover my time working in our yard. The XXL is actually large for me but I'd rather have it loose rather than tight while working in this heat. ... show more
