  • Comfortable, lightweight, but not great durability
Size: 30W x 32L Color: Grill
These wear great, they're comfortable and they serve many purposes - as pants or shorts, for anything from hiking, camping and yard work to hanging out or lounging around. I live in the south so it's warmer more than it's cold, and these breathe well. Plenty of pockets, water drops beads off (and they dry quickly if you get soaked), and they're quick to wash and dry, or hose down in a pinch. But off the three pairs I've had, they all do the same thing - the area around the seam between the legs at the top, always blows out (fabric fails, not the seam itself) after a few months. I'm not talking a year or two, but maybe three months. Jeans do this too for me, but not that soon. I don't know if I'm the problem or if the quality isn't as great as it could be. But for the price, I've stopped buying them because there are more reasonable options for something that only lasts one calendar season. ... show more

  • Perfect Fit
Size: 40W x 34L Color: Tusk
While these fit perfectly and are quite comfortable and light, there are still a couple things I'd prefer to be different: 1. I prefer shorts that end just below the knee, but the zip-off point for these is about six inches above my knees. I realize others may prefer short-shorts, but I wish there was an option for those of us who do not. Or perhaps an option with two zippers per leg, one above and one below the knee. 2. The pocket liners are a mesh fabric, like what is typically found in a swimsuit. I don't wear these for swimming so I'd prefer something more sturdy. But, even if I don't use these as shorts and am forced to put only soft things in my pockets, I'm keeping these because they are super lightweight and comfortable pants. ... show more

  • They Convert!
Size: 32W x 30L Color: Fossil
Wore these on a recent hiking trip to Roaring Springs in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Very comfortable. They are very light weight and they stretch without being restrictive. Wore the pants on the way down and converted them to shorts for the way up. No annoying rubbing where the zipper is both zipped up and unzipped. FYI, I'm 5'9" and got the 32"W x 30"L and they fit me perfectly. ... show more

  • Great travel pants
Size: 40W x 36L Color: New Olive
Got two pair of these for a trip to Scandinavia. Really only needed the one pair since I washed them in the sink at night and hung them up and they would be almost completely dry the next morning. Great fit. Only detached the lower legs to use them as shorts once, but that worked fine. My go to travel pants for the foreseeable future. I did replace the included nylon belt. Sort of skinny with a plastic buckle that seemed flimsy. Belt loops were fine with my leather belt. ... show more

  • A Little Restricting
Size: 30W x 28L Color: Fossil
I wore these on a hike in the Rocky Mountains yesterday. The waist and length fit me, but they are a little tight in the seat and thighs. And the rise is set a little too far, it hangs down a little too far below the crotch. Even when I pulled the waistline all the way up my stomach, they are a little too restrictive. If I bent my leg more then about 30 degrees, I got to the limit and started fighting the fabric. And this fabric has little/no stretch to it. Do that for a while, hiking a steep trail with rocks and logs you have to step over, or walking steps like you might have to on a vacation, and you will get tired fast. They are lightweight, look great, and I think they would be fine for casual wear. I wish they came in "relaxed fit". If you skip leg day at the gym, or you don't know what leg day at the gym is, you will probably be fine. ... show more

  • Nice lightweight pants for travel. Order one size up as they are a little tight in the seat.
Size: 44W x 36L Color: Tusk
Great pants for travel. They are lightweight and comfortable and look nice enough to get by at "dress casual" with a button shirt. The zip-off legs allow them to convert into long shorts which is handy when hiking and the sun comes out after the dew has burned off. The various pockets are nice and deep enough to be functional. The two thigh pockets are deep enough to hold my Pixel 6 Pro phone. One pocket has a zipper closure and the others close by velcro. Nice to know that your phone will not fall out as the zipper keeps it closed. Notes: 1) Some comments advised ordering one size larger than you normally wear. I did this and would also recommend this otherwise they will be too tight across your backside. 2) I did have to return the first set of pants I ordered as the stitching on the pocket unraveled. This should not have happened as I had only worn the pants for one day and I expected better from Columbia. I exchanged them for another identical pair and these have been fine so far. If the stitching comes loose again in the future I'll post an update. ... show more

  • My husband loves them
Size: 34W x 32L Color: Fossil
Super nice quality, sturdy and breathable. He likes the pockets but was a little cranky when the car key ring kept getting stuck in the mesh of the front pocket. They dried way faster than blue jeans and light weight, great for hiking.

  • Impressed
Size: 38W x 36L Color: Tusk
I am extremely happy with these pants. This is my first experience with them. They were perfect size, very comfortable and not too hot or cool. I purchased these for fishing and found the zip off legs to work well getting them off and back on. I took a treble hook to the leg through the pants below the knee. The convenience of zipping off the lower leg was great. Once I got the hook out of my leg then I had to get it out of the pant fabric. I am pleasantly surprised I didn’t rip a hole in the fabric. The photo shows the damage and the blood washed out as well. A second pair is in my future along with a first aid kit. ... show more
