Ordinarily, I wouldn’t select colored glassware as for me it trades a touch of elegance for a big chunk of stadium big gulp. But these coupes are thoughtfully designed with a nice shape and high stem, with a strong, reliable glass, and I thought I might be able to get some use out of them in some themed photography settings for my cocktail hobby. The deal is finding a good sip for which the heavy glass coloration complements or at least doesn’t diminish the cocktail itself. This set of glasses has the added benefit that the color is not super thick, and even loses density, becoming more transparent as it moves up the bowl. I’ve attached one recent shot I was working on. I think they will work really well with some lighter-themed series, like a 90s cocktail set, or something with video games--I've also attached the red glass over a mushroom in a different light, thinking about a Mario cocktail there. I wouldn’t use them for a formal party, but they are fine if it’s you and a friend around the kitchen island or at your home bar. A thing to note with so many of these modern coupes is that they are all over 10 oz, which means you have a giant bowl size. Most modern craft cocktails dilute to about 6 or 7 oz max, which means you will have a glass that dwarfs your cocktail in presentation. Classic cocktails are even smaller, so it will look funny. Sometimes that makes it appear like half the drink is gone (as in my photo), and while this makes it easier to carry around, I suppose, it’s not really my cup of tea in terms of visual impact for the guest. Maybe this doesn’t matter much for your use. It will be fine for high-volume, juice based mocktails, however. They come packaged quite well and I will probably keep them in that pearl cotton casing, as with a collection of a couple thousand pieces of glassware, easy portage is hard to come by. Overall, I like them, and while they won’t be featured very often, they will make conversation pieces as the moment allows for it. ... show more

I like that these wine glasses come in different colors because it will help your guests know whose cup is whose. I like the long stem better, but it will only fit at the bottom rack of my dishwasher, which is not a problem. These are easy to wash and do not have that dip in the middle of the glass that is hard to get wine stains out of like other glasses have.
