I'd ordered the plain Cole Haan Stassi and the right shoe felt great, but there was too much slippage with the left heel. Even though I preferred the look of the plain Stassi, I gave the Stassi soft a shot. Glad! Love these! And, to me, they look better in person. I wasn't sure how much I'd like the ruching in the front. I'm sure my right foot's larger than the left. Even in these, I feel a bit of difference in how the left shoe feels around my heel. But it's not as drastic as with the plain Stassi. The Stassi Soft fit like gloves. Very comfy. Not tight. Not loose. Just secure enough on my feet where I don't have to worry about them flying off if I have to run for the bus or train. They feel as though they'll be comfy enough to do plenty of walking on these NY streets. Will return the plains and keep these. Comfortable 8M, my usual size. I have a narrow heel, shoes usually slip there. Just got them, will walk around house a bit but so far, the fit is good. Insole feels a bit thin, especially under my toes. I hope to resolve easily. Otherwise comfortable. Style quality are good. Lot of pleather shoes out there for much more. Can’t see why they won’t be durable. As for style, they’ll be an upgrade from the sneakers that are my usual casual footwear. Can notch them up as well ... show more

Confession time: I have never, ever worn loafers. Not once! I've always considered them too preppy for my style aesthetic, and frankly, if I'm being totally honest, I've judged them as a shoe styled for older ladies with a silhouette that's not feminine enough for me. I'm a girl who adores a kitten heel and a very pointy toe! So, either I'm getting old or the loafer marketing has reached its apex, because I've been seeing the look more and more with menswear-inspired outfits. And I've been thinking hmmmm, perhaps I should try them out. They're always described as "classic" in style. When I saw this yummy chocolate-hued suede version from Cole Haan, I knew the time had come to give them a try. Plus the word Soft is in the description....never a bad thing with shoes! Cole Haan is a go-to brand for my husband. He has four different pairs of Cole Haans, dressy and casual styles, in our closet at this very moment. In general, I've found the quality of this brand to be consistent and reliable for him. I ordered my usual size 5 1/2 and they fit perfectly. Perfectly! Truly, a Cinderella moment without the evil step-sisters in the background...My foot is on the wider side across the toe box but not so much that I ever order wide-fit shoes. I was pleasantly surprised that these loafers felt great at first try-on. They stretch across the width of the foot while still sitting snugly on the heel with zero slip. The sole is thick enough to provide shock absorption but it's surprisingly pliable too. There's also arch support built into the footbed, which provides additional comfort to the already nicely padded interior. I have to emphasize that the chocolate suede is what really appeals to me with these loafers. Maybe it's because I'm such a newbie to the concept of wearing loafers, but I'm not sure I'd love the leather styles nearly as much. The suede exudes elegance and understated luxury. I am still figuring out how to style these. I tried them with ankle-length wide-legged jeans, a fitted tank, a nipped-waist blazer, and several layered necklaces. I must say, the loafers felt weird at first compared to my usual pointy kitten heels. I also made way more effort with my hair and makeup than usual, so I think subconsciously I was trying to amp up the 'girlie' factor in my outfit to balance out the shoes. But the whole look, I must say, made me feel stylish and classy. Who knew?!? You loafer lovers have really been onto something! ... show more

The shoes are absolutely beautiful however the sizes are wrong! I WEAR A 7.5 REGULAR. I Received the shoes and they were at least over 1.5 inches too short.

    • These New Loafers Fit Right In with My Vintage Cole Haan Pairs

I have a collection of Cole Haan shoes from over the years. The shoes are timeless, lightweight, comfortable and look great for years with minimal maintenance. I have Cole Haan pumps, ballerinas, sandals, you name it, but this is my very first Cole Haan loafer. THE CONSTRUCTION: I was a bit nervous to get this shoe because I haven't bought a Cole Haan shoe in more than a decade. I didn't think they would be the same. I haven't even seen them around for some time. I am so pleasantly surprised to report that it is, indeed, the same shoe I have always enjoyed. The rich, buttery, supple leather upper with a flexible rubber sole. The structural integrity of the silhouette slenderizes the foot, in my opinion. And the shoe feels comfortable all day—the insole is incredible. It has a Poron feel, but maybe a bit more springy. Feels good on the foot. THE FIT: Please note that this particular shoe seems to want to be worn on a bare foot, the fit is that close. It's not like the loafers of yesterday that wanted a sock. Michael Jackson would have had to order a size up. But if you're down for that barefoot, preppy loafer look, this is a winner. My regular size is a size 9 or 9.5 on some brands. I got this in a size 9.5 and the fit is just fine. The fit is wonderful, in fact. This is a great shoe and I'll be on the lookout for more from this brand. ... show more
