Let’s face it quality everywhere is lower in most consumer items. This Chelsea boot isn’t as sturdy or well made as previous discontinued lines like the fantastic Kennedy series. However this lightweight boot is still well made, attractive and supremely comfortable. It’s also a good value.

Ordered the British tan leather in 9.5 (I wear a 9.5 sneaker) true to size fit. Elastic on the sides is nice and thick. I took a side by side comparison of the Thursday boot Duke (200 dollar boot) so you can see the thickness of both the leather and elastic. The sole and heel appear to be glued on, and the sole and heel appears to be a single rubber piece, not stacked leather like the Thursday duke. I wore them on a trip to Prauge. The grip held up very well on the wet cobble stone. They crease up no worse than any other leather chelsea would. A good shoe tree and delecate heat treatment will relax the creases. The pull tab is big compared to the Thursday, So it's easy to get your finger through the loop compared to the Thursday. Which means it easy to get the pull taps caught on the back of your pants (really the only bad I got out of this boot, but that can be remediedby by cutting it off.) . At the time of writing this post, the British tan and mederia where on sale for around 90 (depending on the size). I am happy about the product, its really hard to expect a blake stitch or a good year welt out a 90-120 dollar boot. The sole being a solid piece of rubber glued to the bottom "may" raise durability issues. But since I only wear boots like this to brunch, museums and jazz clubs, I am really happy with them. ... show more
