  • Worked great
The stuff at the store is so much more expensive. This comes in tabs and you drop them in. I have a smeg Automatic espresso machine and it requires descaling often and these are great for that.

  • Worked fine in my Keurig
I have a Keurig with a side tank and filled the side tank with cool filtered water (the instructions said to use warm water but I wanted filtered rather than tap water) and then dropped in a tab. It took quite a while to dissolve but eventually did. It probably would have been faster in warm water. The tab fizzed as it dissolved and the water in the tank had a tiny bit of soapy looking foam in it. Per the Keurig instructions. I ran the water through like I was brewing but without a K-cup until the machine said to add more water. At that point, I set the machine to stay on (disabling the auto shut off) for several hours, then came back and ran clean water through it. It took a whole tank plus a couple more runs before I felt like the water coming out was clean. We had no issues after that with any odd tastes in the coffee, so our Keurig, which gets used several times daily, should be good to go for another 3-6 months. These tabs are easier and probably cheaper to use than adding vinegar as suggested in the Keurig manual. ... show more

  • Worked well for Mr. Coffee, not so much for off-label use on my hot water kettle (oh well)
Worked well for my old Mr. Coffee - in fact, some of the cleaning liquid got on the hot plate, and that effectively cleaned up some of the burnt coffee on there. It looks as new as a 30-year old drip coffeemaker could look. Definitely vintage, but I don't think I can call it antique yet… Took about 45 minutes for the tablet to dissolve. I finally got a little annoyed and stirred it up with a wooden spoon. It's kind of like an alka-seltzer tablet on steroids. Percolated through with no issues, ran 3 more pots of water through, and it looks great! Experimented with my hot water kettle and tried the cleanser "off label": far less successful. It didn't remove any of the discoloration (a previous coffee cleaner did, but that was liquid form and I suspect more concentrated). There seemed to be some residue. And you CANNOT just boil the kettle and let it turn off automatically because this stuff will foam up and overflow like crazy. Ask me how I know. But I can appreciate that foaming action is scrubbing the heck out of the inside of my coffeemaker. I tried to clean the kettle twice, and even let it sit overnight after getting it close to boiling again a couple times, but no visible improvement. (the very shiny part at the bottom is from my liquid cleanser, but you can see the new residue buildup that didn't budge with this cleanser). I'd really hoped to be able to clean both my kettle and coffeemaker with the same product since shipping tablets is much more efficient than shipping liquids, but that's not going to work here. I can't ding them a star for my unrealistic hopes & dreams, though, but maybe I can save someone some disappointment if they're hoping the same thing ... show more

  • Worked fine on the espresso side of our coffee maker
I have a combo coffee/espresso maker from Ninja that I really like. I tend to make the first cup an espresso, but then also run a 26oz coffee pot for my wife and I to have over the rest of the morning. I think the espresso side needs descaling more often, perhaps because of the pressure and/or stronger grounds. Even though my Ninja instructions advise me to use a white vinegar and water solution to clean either side, I used one of these tablets instead. Pretty easy, you just fill the reservoir with warm water, drop and tablet in, and run the clean cycle on the espresso side, which takes about an hour. Afterward, be sure to run a couple of reservoirs of clean water through just to make sure all the chemicals are gone. I don't know if it improves the taste or anything, but regular cleaning seems like a good idea. These tablets are handier than making sure I have white vinegar on hand and mixing the solution that Ninja advises. Maybe I'll alternate between the two systems for cleanings from now on. ... show more

  • Easy to use, descaled as advertised
These flow cheer coffee machine cleaner descaler tablets are very easy to use; just drop one in and let the pot do the rest. I would recommend a little warmer water which seemed to help it dissolve a little easier. It definitely got some additional built up gunk out; for my purposes, it was a little easier than my vinegar solution, but the additional chemicals than plain old vinegar may be important to someone else. I liked that there was no residual vinegar smell. ... show more

  • Works well so far
I tried this on my old Keurig machine, and it seems to do a good job with cleaning. Hard to say anything about descaling after only one use, but it did seem to run a little more smoothly afterwards. As mentioned by other reviewers, the tablet does take a while to fully dissolve. After running multiple brew cycles until the initial cleaning tank was done, and then filling it back up with regular water and running cycles until that tank was done, a subsequent brewed cup of coffee tasted normal, without any abnormal taste. The price is very good, especially considering how many tablets are included. ... show more
