  • Nice arrangements
I am an intermediate pianist. When this book arrived in the mail, I opened it and was initially disappointed with how easy the songs looked. I expected I would be returning it. However, when I sat down and played them, I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful the arrangements are and how nicely they flow. It is a great book to sit and sight-read when I want to relax. ... show more

  • Maybe good for sightreading practice...
I am really disappointed in the arrangements. Easy arrangements are fine but I think these could be done better, they're too dull and focused on the vocal line. Still, it's good for sightreading practice, and might be good for someone who wants to treat the scores more like a lead sheet....

  • I am writing a second review after playing more of the songs.
I had only played a few songs from this book but a few days later played "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" I was astonished when I played through it. It is one of the best versions (very easy) that I have found. I must have 5 or more versions some are extremely difficult but this Cocktail Piano version hits this song right on the head. In my opinion, after looking and looking for a "whole hearted" version of this old standard--this arrangement is unbelievable. It has the total flavor of standard. To me it tops all of my harder and more complete versions. This old standard puts this book on the top of the pile. Worth every penny! ... show more

  • Nice sounding arrangements.
This is a nice collection of music arranged nicely for Easy Piano. There are some fingering suggestions that are helpful. I would have liked chords listed above changes but they are not provided. A good exercise would be for a player to analyze and list the progression as they learn the tunes.

  • EASY = THIN
These arrangements were very thin and frankly did not sound very good to me. They also did not utilize what I have come to know as "standard" methods to accompany the melody. I would have to be actually "reading" the notation as I played in order to determine what is going to come next. There was no natural flow to things,. I put the book away and will not use it again .... total waste. ... show more

  • Wonderful book
The compositions are varied and interesting. I enjoy that the compositions are not too difficult to play.
