I have used Pinaud powder for over 25 years. During this time the company changed from real talc to corn starch, which at first concerned me. After checking into the change I realized they probably did this because of the bad rap that talc received for its carcinogenic properties when used in women's tampax. I don't really know if these properties are transferrable to the externally used Pinaud or not, but I guess men could breathe in the talc when its applied to the body. Maybe that is the reason for the change, but the cynical side of my brain tells me it was a money-saver, and they took advantage of the talc-scare to make the change. Whatever the case, the fragrance fortunately did not change. It has always reminded me of the old aftershave, Canoe, for those old enough to remember that old standby. It's just a hint of this aroma, and fortunately the scent is never overwhelming, a good thing in my mind. If you have never tried this powder, give it a try.

I happen to love this powder. But I haven’t done is much research into what type of powder it is because apparently using true talc can cause some long-term health problems. I don’t have any reason to believe that it is talc, but every other bottle of powder I’ve ever seen specifically says it’s not. That would be my only thing would be check that out. I don’t happen to care, so I just use it and I really like it. If you’d like that, fresh from the barbershop smell, also look for the Pineault aftershave that stuff is the bomb!!!
