I’m using as Houseplant stand and I love the size so I recommend this because it’s the perfect size for a House. The first image does the before that was there when we moved in. I looked for weeks for shelves that would be similar to what was already happening here to bring them up to the ceiling. These assembled in about 4 minutes and were perfect. *Only less than ideal thing was the backing. It was just card stock with a vertical fold seam down the middle. I used quality plywood instead. Used a primer and then Behr paint. Would get again if we did another project. ... show more

The bookshelf is very sturdy for its price range, capable of truly holding a lot of books. Unfortunately, the packaging was not very protective and the shelf arrived with some minor scratches and a chip on the bottom. All of the damage is superficial and isn't very noticeable with books on the shelves. So, I didn't get these put together right away. However, the first one that was put together went together very well and there were no issues. For the second one, I needed my husband's help. The whole bookcase didn't "fit" together nearly as well as the first one. It didn't screw together as tightly and it's quite wobbly. I wasnt expecting this to be perfect quality but got it anyway to fit our budget and need. Pros: Cheap Sturdy if fastened to the wall Deeper than most bookshelves Fast assembly Adjustable shelves Feels like the shelves would hold a lot of weight Cons: Wobbly if freestanding Cardboard backing (that we didn't use) 1 shelf is not adjustable We used it as a built-in in our closet for shoes and other things so I expect it will last longer there than if it was used more heavily. Shelving is thick and very sturdy, easy to assemble. The box came damaged when it arrived. Thankfully, none of the wood pieces were damaged, but the cardboard backing came damaged as shown.

    • Dowel Pins Not The Best.

Considering most merchandise is made in China, I'm giving these Bookcases 4 stars for aesthetics which is very pleasing to the eye. I purchased 2 of the 6 shelves style. The shelves are supposed to be marked with letters, which wasn't the case with my orders. Some of the predrilled holes were out of line and off center. The dowel pins are cheaply flimsy and require reinforcement, such a strong glue. After finally getting the assembly done, the shelves were still a bit wobbly. After attaching the shelves to the wall, they finally lost the wobbling/shifting feel. If you want desired stability with them, use glue (strong setting glue) in all the holes, buy some extra dowel pins and attached the shelves to the wall, especially if there's small children in the home who climb things. In all honesty, after paying for two of them, I regretted not considering other shelves, because the hardware received with mine was inferior and required reinforcement with glue. If your dowel pins break, using a #2 school pencil, cut into sections, will suffice. ... show more
