  • So far it’s great
Color: Sky
I just received the chair a few days ago and used it for the first time yesterday. First impression out of the box was yeah it’s small and light especially for a chair claiming 300lb capacity. I am about 6 foot 5 and 265 lb so I’m hoping they are solid on their weight claims and durability. I’m a big farm boy ex football player type so I need things that are durable. I also love to camp so I like things that are portable and don’t have to fiddle with to much to setup. This thing fits the bill. I glanced over the instructions - easy enough, 5 second setup is a big No. I’m sure some nerd with the design team calculated and spent several days doing it over and over to pull it off but you know, unless you popped the button and it assembled itself that isn’t gonna happen for us mere mortals. Pretty inconsequential though, because I still had it together the first time in probably a minute or so as I figured it out. no crazy pushing, pulling or stretching and fiddling with trying to get things in holes. Next time probably take me 15 seconds honestly now that I see how it works. Just check out the assembly instructions it’s super easy once you check those out and make sure you pull out ALL of the extensions on each of the upper arms of the seat frame. My main purpose for this was to run home from work grab my boy and a chair, run to football practice and not have to spend 10 minutes pushing and pulling on a chair to get it setup. To hot at this point in the summer and no patience after work. I popped it open in about a minute next to the boys water bottle dump site and parked my butt in it and was a nice and comfortable sort of reclined position, similar to my other portable chairs I have only i didn’t break a sweat setting it up. it was simple, quick and perfectly comfortable. 2 hour practice with probably at least a 1 hour stretch in the chair and never felt the need to even really adjust. I have a big frame so I won’t say I had lots of room cause it was snug, obviously, since I am at its absolute design limits but It was still totally comfy for me. Take note though, This isn’t a sit by the fire for 5 hours and fall asleep kind of chair, it will strain your neck over time. Same as any other portable design like this. But for a couple hours for it’s portability and ease to setup - fantastic. Best one I have tried to this point for ease of setup and really compact design and comfort. Is it easy to setup - yes!!! Is it light - yes, even at 3.5 -4 lbs my other similar chairs weigh more. Take it camping, absolutely. Understand what kind of camping you want to do. Yuppy camping, no doubt. Backpack under a couple miles and setup an extended camp, yeah I would take it. Football practice, cookouts, the park with the kids - absolutely. Setup time and effort to do so are fantastic. I really hope this holds up - I found several reviews where the legs break off after I bought it. I hope those flaws are fixed at this point or the warranty should at least be stellar at this price. Cons: it is REALLY expensive - about twice as expensive as my other fairly high end versions of this design at about $100 per chair at the time of my purchase. I have very high expectations for durability at this price point so I really hope they deliver because in my opinion they nailed exactly what I was looking for. At this price point though it is definitely a luxury item. Hopefully it holds up and the price can come down as people catch on and the quality is as high as it should be. I would love to buy one each for the rest of my family but price won’t let me be going there. Nothing to do with cliq, they do what they gotta do to be profitable but if ya got the cash to buy it, after 1 day of using it - buy it. Functionally it’s awesome, durability we’ll have to see. Update I have used the chair about 10 times now. Up to 2 - 2 1/2 hours of sitting time at practice or games. LOVE the design, compactness and lightweight simplicity. I can set this thing up in 30 seconds or less now and it is effortless. Fits in my small backpack and it’s really quite awesome. Sitting in it, for me, as I suspected, starts reaching its comfort limits at around 2 -3 hours due to kneck and shoulder strain. I just get up and stretch it out a bit and I’m good. But I am a big guy, and at this chairs limits in design as stated earlier being 6’5 and 265-270 I still desperately hope it will hold up. As with all of these chair types I hope the pressure points in the fabric seat do not rip out. All in all I love this thing I can pull it out, release the Velcro strap and flip it with one hand to get it into setup mode. A few quick pulls on the arms and click, click, click and I’m sitting. I love compact efficient and most importantly functional gadgets. This one is legit and great engineering. Not gonna lie, I love watching the peoples faces when I whip this out and can slap it together in seconds and I think they expect it will just collapse under my weight and it doesn’t and they go whoa. So far I’m still putting it in the best , most compact and easiest setup chair ever category. ... show more

  • Heavy but worth it’s weight. So easy to deploy and relatively comfortable for this type of chair.
Color: Moss
We have a van camper that's short on storage and I’ve bought a succession of camping chairs in the last few years trying to find just the right one. After some swings and misses, I decided to try one of the much publicized Cliq chairs when I saw one on Amazon that was “used – like new“. What the heck? It was about 80 bucks and worth giving a shot. It arrived looking like it had never been used or opened, and although it’s pretty heavy, the engineering is really impressive. Easy to pop out, solid to sit in, a good sitting angle (which not all of these type of chairs are), not too low to the ground for seniors like us, and sturdy front legs with the right angle to push and stand up (a lot of the ultra-lightweight backpacking chairs are tip-prone when trying to stand). I’m 5‘3“ and I was comfortable, so I got a second one for my husband who is 6‘2“ - he thought it was relatively comfortable, too. (NB: I also got two Cliq Lounges for us. They are similarly easy to deploy and solid and relatively comfortable for what they are, but the chairs are a better solution if you just want to pull your camper over, take a couple of chairs out to enjoy the view and have some lunch before you head back off again. That’s the sort of thing we would use them for. The Lounges would be for longer sitting, sky watching at night, that sort of thing. I am a fan. Now if they make them out of titanium someday, I would consider replacing all four with lighter ones. They are heavyish….) Also, a big shout out to Cliq's customer service folks. I had lots of discussions with them before we also decided to try the larger lounge chairs, purchased directly through the company during a big Labor Day sale. They were great, they did follow up and contacted me to see how I like them and even contacted me to remind me that my 30 day trial period was expiring in case I was thinking about returning them. How many companies do that?! A list of the other chairs we've tried: REI Flex-lite dream (comfortable bed really hard to put together. Took about 10 minutes and hard on Summers to get everything pulled into place. ) Eureka, high-back lounge. (Solid, comfortable, but huge and oh, so heavy) GCI Pico chair (they don't fold up and down in a smaller or easier than S, but it's upright, directors chair, not something we would lounge in. Good for dinner at a table, I guess.) Various quad chairs, both cheap, and pricey. (Never liked them, although they're easy enough to deploy. But they're long and bulky and space is an issue with us in a small B van) We decided the Cliq Chairs hit the sweet spot for us. (If we ever had a larger vehicle with storage, which we never will, we would once again get some patio style padded, zero gravity, lounge chairs. We had some years ago, they were great, especially for star watching, but nowhere to store them in a van.) ... show more

  • Great Portable Chair! Fits on Side of Backpack
I am a motorsports photographer and spend all day on my feet. Usually I just sit on the ground or wherever when I get a break but when I saw these chairs I thought I would give one a shot. I usually carry a single 30L Backpack with all my gear. It has two 40oz water bottle holders on each side and also has a tripod mount in the center of the backpack for carrying a tripod attached to the backpack when not in use. This chair fits in either of the water bottle holders or the tripod mount making it a very versatile piece of kit. I will probably get a second one and the bag and drop them under the rear seat in my truck. We often find ourselves at events and it would be great to have a couple of chairs always on hand. Is it the most comfortable folding chair I have ever sat in? Not really. It's a 7.5 out of 10 for me (6 ft 190 lbs) but the compact size and sturdy build are why I bought it. It's not an option to carry a large folding chair around the track but something that can fit in my backpack makes this a great option. It's definitely pricey for a folding chair but the build quality is very good and I suspect it will last many years making it a "you get what you pay for" value. ... show more

  • Great chair, but DO NOT USE ON SAND without help
Color: Black
Solid chair, for the most part. It supported my weight well and has a good seat height for my longer than average legs. WAY better than the cheap ones. The size and weight are perfect for travel and hiking, and the quick folding and unfolding is excellent for conventions like PAX. However, the first and only time I took it to the beach, it could not handle the instability of sand. Shifting my weight to find an upright balance sheared open a main support strut, leaving it unusable, and with a jagged edge. If you want to take it to sandy ground, make sure you find a solid spot, or bring a strong board to set it on. ... show more
