This chair fills the hole in the market for those who want a very portable, lightweight, comfortable, convenient-to-set-up, rugged chair, but unfortunately has a serious design flaw (which I will fix). I have a regular, large camp chair with a cup holder, 4 can cooler, and pockets. Also a couple small tripod stools, and the slingback fabric roll chair from Mountainsmith. I almost purchased a Helinox (or similar), but didn't like the extra step of attaching the fabric, as easy as it may be. I wanted a single chair made with quality materials and as simple as possible to get set up. The Cliq is that chair. Pockets are often sacrificed on small chairs and I was happy to find the Cliq had pockets as well, hence the purchase. The pocket is the design flaw. The pocket is made as a pass through from one side to the other in an almost funnel shape - large at the tops and narrows as it passes under the seat. The somewhat stretchy fabric gets taught against your rear end when you sit down, there is little-to-no give (I am 170lbs). You have 2 layers of fabric under you, with the possibility of your stowed goods being sat on. Say you take a seat, put your phone or sunglasses in the pocket, get up, and when you sit back down, your items will have slid to the bottom of pocket and is now between the 2 layers of fabric. Maybe a phone could survive, but sunglasses wouldn't. For a chair this size, I am not expecting to hold a water bottle, or multiple cans - just small items normally found in pockets, and I'd like them not to all slide under the seat every time I get up. Why they did not sew the pockets closed about mid-way down the sides is beyond me. I plan to have mine sewn (or velcro'd) on each side to effectively stop any items from passing through to the bottom of the pocket. It may not look factory original, but will certainly be more useful. ... show more

Is this chair cool? Absolutely: Space-age coolness. Does it set up in 5 seconds? Only if you have hands faster than a professional pick-pocket. SPEED - The videos show fast, but you would have to practice quite a bit to get that fast. However, for me that is more a gimmick than anything. Why would someone NEED to set up their chair in 5 seconds? Anyway, in that regard it is not as advertised. WEIGHT/SIZE - This packs small, but is rather heavy. Definitely not for backpacking long distance if you are trying to cut weight. COMFORT - I'm 5'10" 200lbs. This was the big "nope" for me. In my pictures you can see how reclined it is and how there is no support above the bottom of the shoulder blades. If you notice in the videos, most of the shots show them sitting upright and not reclining. That's for good reason. Sitting back like I did in my photos causes the core and abdominal muscles to engage continuously, and the front neck muscles to flex to keep your head from falling off. I could not get comfortable, period. CONSTRUCTION - This chair feels solid. It has a unique flexibility, but does not feel unstable. I can tell that it is a well thought out design. I know there are some reviews that show broken legs and describe other defects, and I can't say it couldn't happen, I just feel that it is sturdy enough to hold 200lbs comfortably. FINAL RECAP - It's a really cool chair; There is no denying that. Not for backpack camping. The biggest problem for me is the comfort issue. If it were scooped deeper or the back was more upright and supportive this would easily be my favorite chair. ... show more

I've always found the traditional camping chair slouchy and uncomfortable. I would attempt to make myself more comfortable by sitting in traditional chairs sideways, legs over the one arm rest and back leaning against the other. HERE COMES IN THIS MAGNIFICENTLY ENGINEERED product. It allows me to lean back so comfortably and without fear of falling back, it's balance is impeccable even in uneven camp ground terrains. It dries so quick after it gets rained on and!!! IT has mesh pockets I only just noticed this week lol. They even fit a soda cup like in my photo!!! It collapses down so neatly and is so sturdy. I've mastered closing and opening it after a couple tries. The absolute best part?!?!? IT FITS ANYWHERE, it is so compact and could go in my day bag if I needed!
