Like- It's brand new. Dislike- No zipper like the original version (see photo). Tool tray should be underneath like the original version. (See photo). Using a couple heavy duty carabiners for the shoulder strap is a good idea.(see photo). I always put a layer of caulking on the base of the tool bag to greatly increase the sturdiness, durability, and longevity of the bottom of the bag. (See photo) ... show more

I went through two different setups prior to getting this bag. One full on tool belt wearing with all my tools in it, then I tried a different bag provided by my company. I tried both of these for one month straight each. This bag now is hands down a thousand times better. I have one small tough built tool pouch that I click on my side for my necessary constantly used hand tools. Then this bag I have to carry everything else in. I bought a second larger plastic container that I swapped the one that comes in with. I load all my necessary stuff in them and it fits perfectly. I keep a small thick plastic bag in the center that I use for trash and other things needing to be disposed of. I get compliments from customers all the time about how well organized it is. The only con about this tool bag is the tall handle likes to flop over. I fixed this by inserting thin steel rods into the fabric on either side and securing with zip ties at the top and bottom. You can hardly tell it's there but it keeps the handle straight up right now. For the price of this thing and it's ease of use, this easily exceeds the value for the money and I would definitely recommend to anybody else. If something were to happen to this bag tomorrow, such as it tears or breaks, I would be on here the very next minute ordering another one. ... show more

    • Excellent Tool Carrier But Here's a Tip You May Need.

I took a long time looking around for the right tool carrier for my new wood turning hobby and this electrician's tote turned out to be exactly what I needed. Because I started off turning wooden pens and lots of small parts are required, the storage tray tray hidden in the base of the bag comes in very handy for keeping bushings, brass tubes, spare parts, etc. organized and readily available. Plenty of pockets, zippered compartments, nooks and crannies are very satisfying if you're the kind of guy who likes to keep your stuff conveniently located as well as portable. Besides loving this tool carrier, I am writing this review because there is a tip I want to share that has to do with the condition the item arrived in when Amazon shipped it. You'll notice in the pictures of this tool carrier the handle flaps stand straight up and down. They are in fact pretty rigid and designed to stand up out of the way of the storage on either sides of the tote. Unfortunately, when mine arrived it had been packed in a box that required the handle flaps to be pushed down to one side. As a consequence, the flaps would not stand up even when I loaded the bag up and suspended it over night in an effort to get them to straighten out. This may not seem like a big issue but I found with the flaps bent to one side, I was having a hard time getting to items stored on that side of the carrier. After a few weeks of this and nearly on the verge of deciding to return the tote, I came up with a solution. I figured there had to be some kind of a plastic insert inside those flaps keeping them rigid so if I could heat them up a little I might be able to straighten them out. I took a small hair dryer my girlfriend leaves at my house and used this to warm up the flaps while the bag was suspended. I moved the hair dryer around a lot to keep from burning the canvas covering and I worked on both sides of each flap alternating back and forth. After about 5 minutes of this the annoying curvature in the flaps relaxed and my tool carrier now looks like the one in the picture. I left the carrier hanging up overnight and there hasn't been any relapse into the bent position. Go ahead and order this nifty tool carrier if you think it will suit your needs and if you run into the same problem I did just pull out a hair dryer and in 5 minutes or so, it will be like you bought it off the shelf at your local hardware store. ... show more

The one thing I was worried about was deformed handles from improper packaging that I read about in other reviews. The bag arrived in an adequately sized box yet the handles still had a slight bend and crease to them. I was able to straighten the handles out by warming up the underlying plastic with a hair dryer and hanging the bag up with the shoulder strap attached to the D rings. I was able to bend and massage the two crease out. The bag is great for organization and allows me to get tools without having to dig through a bag. So far the pockets and material seem very sturdy. The bag has a shoulder strap, carry handle and also has four feet on the bottom to keep bag kinda off the ground or whatever you set it on. ... show more

I have probably purchased one of every tool-bag made, and this is my favorite. The last one made it through seven years of heavy use. The bag part is still 100% solid. Only the handle is worn out. Very solid construction. The reason I like it is that it is well laid out for a professional workman with a lot of small hand tools, and a few larger ones. ... show more

These days I'm hesitant to purchase items on Amazon primarily based on star ratings but I'll have to admit this tool carrier lives up to somewhere between a four and five star rating: excellent stitching, heavy canvas material, perfect size for me, the grip on the handle is comfortable even with a fully loaded back, and lots of slots for various sized tools. Especially though, my first impression was that this is quality item. At it's current price I'm even taking the (uncompensated) time to write a very favorable review. I think this carry bag is actually deserving of a 4 1/2 star rating; only docked it half a star for no coffee holder... ;-) ... show more
