Comfortable, good quality and true to size. I wear a 5.5 in anything without socks and usually can do a 6 with socks for reference. So hard to find good 5.5 size sandals.

The velcro straps allow adjustments for better fit which worked well for my arthritic toe as well as the slight rise on the heel. I love these. True size. Color matched the pictures. Super comfy. I have wide feet and they fit nicest snug but not uncomfortably snug.     • Blue vs Gray
Background: Two months ago I had foot surgery to shave down a large heel spur on the back of my heel, not the bottom of my foot, that was also tearing up my Achilles tendon. I was released from the medical boot and discovered I could not wear any of the shoes in my closet and it would be awhile before I could handle anything touching my heel so began the search for open back shoes without heel or ankle straps but would remain secure on my feet. Luckily, we are heading into summer and I needed new sandles anyway so I bought 3 pair (different brands). I bought black, off white, and wanted gray but that color option was a real challenge so blue was another color choice that comes in handy...thinking navy blue. Well, I finally stumbled onto the Clarke Leisa sandals and really liked the denim blue and they were on sale in my size...score! The shoes: Fit was true to size and I love the fact the upper leather straps are customizable; this adjustability is perfect as my left foot swells a lot as I am still slowly increasing my walking distance. When swollen and I have to loosen the straps, the velcro does show a bit, which is annoying but not glaringly obvious as the color of the velcro is near to the leather color. Comfort: I have to say, out of all 3 pair, these Clarke's are the most comfortable out of the box. That is saying something as the other 2 pair are comfortable enough but the leather on this shoe just feel like slippers to me yet are far more secure on my foot than any slipper I have had. As for support, I cannot judge as my recent surgery prevents any long standing or walking any distance. Color: The denim blue does indeed look like picture above....in some light. Then, in different lighting they are decidedly gray in color. I love them! So, I got what I wanted afterall...both blue or gray sandals that will always go with any Jean outfit. Just be warned that if you hate gray, this denim color may not be for you. ... show more
