    • Great materials design is flawed.

The upside is they did a nice job with materials used. Good reinforcement around the eyelets which for some will be a saving grace. These boots are very stiff when new, kind of clunky at first. There is virtually nothing holding your foot as there are too few eyelets for the size (US Men’s 11). Saving grace, I was able to easily add an additional set of eyelets, secure fit now secured. As for stuff and clunky a generous amount of Neets leather oil fixed that. (Boots will darken a bit) If you’re willing to work with them a little I think they will be a long serving boot. If you seek instant fit/function I recommend passing on these. ... show more

I purchased these for my partner and he just loved them. He says they are extremely comfortable and he likes the wax look. I ordered him a 9.5 Wide. I have been wearing Clark’s for many years and am introducing them to my partner and I know he’ll be buying them going forward.

The sole is not real comfortable and I own a lot of Clark’s shoes that are. I tried inserts but they made the boots too small.

    • Wish it had a 3rd lace up eyelet, but nice.

Only has 2 lace up eyelets, wish it had 3 or 4. These are (from a distance) almost exactly like Civil War era Union brogans. Modern support and interior construction will allow for long parades without any discomfort.

Tldr, solid boots for the price, just buy em! I’m a big boot guy, I do handyman and warehouse work but also just like the look and feel of a nice pair of boots. These are simple, they aren’t super fancy or anything, but the leather seems pretty good quality, and they’re a simple stitched-down construction so you can resole them after long usage. The oil tanned leather is really nice because most scratches and minor dings can just be rubbed out, and the patina looks beautiful! The laces are a little awkward on these, could have been a tad higher up to give better support for your ankle, but works well. There is practically no insole, and it’s a permanent insole as well so it feels like you’re walking barefoot (I don’t mind it but these definitely aren’t hiking boots or anything of the sort). Mine came with a couple loose threads, but I just cleaned those up with a lighter. Overall happy with my purchase ... show more

Recommend going a size down. Fit my boyfriend perfectly and he’s a 10.5-11, but the 10 fit him!
