  • More comfortable than Bushacre 2
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Beeswax
I own both the Bushacre 2 and the Bushacre 3. Both are a size 10. The pictures show the three on the left and the two on the right. You can see there are certain differences in the same shoe. The toe box is slightly larger on the three. Which is much more comfortable as I found the two very cramped. The three is also slightly taller as you can see in the picture. Frankly I like the shorter two version better. Although the height difference isn't huge, it seems like the tongue of the three slides to the side a little easier than the tongue of the two which sat perfectly on top of the foot. This is probably due to the extra height. The length appears to be about the same as you can see in the pictures. The three comes with an updated shoelace which I actually like. Most importantly, the third version of this shoe comes with an ortholite insole. The bush acre twos were so hard and uncomfortable that they were useless without an insert. In fact painful. The new insole and cradled soul is a much welcome addition. The soul on the bushacre 3 is slightly different in texture and a little grippier. In my photos the two looks a little bit darker but that's only because it was treated while the three was not. One other difference is that the inside of leather on the two is smoother. Almost as if it was processed better. The interior of the three is a bit rougher but not so much as to be uncomfortable. All in all I like the fit of the three slightly better, and the comfort is extraordinarily better. But I did like the height of the two a little bit better. You may find that your purchase is different as these shoes are probably not completely uniformly made. ... show more

  • Buy the seller
Size: 9.5 Color: Dark Brown
This is my third shoe purchase from Zappos. I preferred Zappos from the moment i began window shopping for shoes. Shoes are trickier to shop for online compared to other clothing. I knew dealing with a well established retailer was the only thing that would reassure me and ease my nervousness of any problems. Unfortunately i did have 2 problems with my orders. Amazon customer care and Zappos customer service was stellar, not just replying quickly but implementing a solution immediately. Equally of value to me was the kind and patient way Amazon and Zappos customer care employees spoke to me. You could tell it didn't matter who i was, they were just genuinely kind. The shoes themselves arrived in good shape in their retail boxes. The dark brown BA3 color is nearly identical to the BA2 beeswax. You can feel the difference of the ortholite in the BA3 even after a few steps compared to the non-ortholite BA2. The online shoe size guide is accurate. In terms of comfort (for short distances anyway) they are second only to my sneakers. Durability reviews are mixed, the take away is that they are not meant to be worn daily. They are not delicate, they just need to be worn in a rotation with other pairs to extend their life. I've already spoken to a cobbler who confirmed he can resole them when the time comes. In summary i highly recommend the BA3 it's a great buy at the price point, but (depending on your mileage) anticipate the lifespan to correlate to the price point. If you have the luxury of choosing a retailer, i can definitely say you can trust Zappos and Amazon. ... show more

  • Very pleasantly surprised!
Size: 11 Color: Black Leather
I’ve had multiple pairs of the ‘real’ Clark’s Originals line of Desert boots (I should say ‘have’ - they’re all still in great shape, even my oldest pair that’s clocking ten years of weekly+ use!). I was a little wary of these bc the plastic soles were a bit of a turnoff as opposed to the traditional ‘cheese bottoms,’ and I’d read some not stellar things about the build quality. But I’m very impressed with them so far! They’re actually far more comfortable out of the box than the Originals line are (especially the inner-soles). Materials aren’t as nice as the Originals and I doubt they’ll last as long, but hey, you get what you pay for. I’ll just be wearing them while sitting at my desk at work, so I don’t really have any concerns about their longevity. Very happy! (I attached a photo bc there wasn’t a very good one of the black in the existing reviews) ... show more

  • Clarks never fails, but be careful with sizing
Size: 9 Color: Dark Brown
I'll admit, I had to exchange these 2 or 3 times before I got the fit just right. I'm pretty consistently a size 10 in shoes across most major brands. In the past, my size 10 Clarks have always fit perfectly, but these seem to run a little big. I ordered size 10 and it was too big, then went down to 9.5 and it still felt a little big, so I went to size 9 which was actually too small! Finally, I settled on 9.5 and after a few weeks of wearing, they actually fit my feet well - no heel sliding and I can stay on my feet for 8+ hours at work no sweat! You may want to go down 1/2 size from what you normally buy and if they feel a tiny bit loose at first, they'll break in. Just make sure they aren't squeezing your toe box and you've got about 1" of toe space and you're good. ... show more

  • Comfortable, but also, not
Size: 11.5 Wide Color: Black Waxy Suede
These shoes look good, but they need to be able to be laced up higher. There are only 2 eyelets on either side, and because of this they are much too loose at the top. Also because of this the tongue continuously slips down. I want to return them, but plan to see if I can find a way to add an eyelet myself. ... show more

  • Much More Comfortable than the Bushacre 2
Size: 10 Color: Beeswax
After having the Bushacre 2 for a couple years and wearing them out, I decided to try out the 3 this time. First thing that's immediately noticeable is the comfort. The 2's had a thin 3/4 liner that provided basically no cushion and the 3's have a totally redesigned footbed with a thick full length foam insole. The next thing I noticed is the quality of the leather. It's acceptable, but significantly thinner than the 2's. I can see how this could make break-in easier, but it just seems like a way to save money. I do question the long term durability. Despite that I'm sure the sole will still wear out long before the upper does. The arch support seems much better as well. It almost feels like there could be a shank in the sole. All in all, they're good looking, comfortable boots at a pretty reasonable price. ... show more

  • Great boots!
Size: 10.5 Color: Black Leather
I’ve been wearing the Bushacre 2 for several years. The addition of an insole is much welcomed.
