Wow, super heavy!! I didn't try it on, but it would surely slide right down my fine hair. Also, my hair is gray and looks just like the swatch I chose for the color but what I got was NOT a salt and pepper gray but black hair color with a few gray hairs. Looks almost totally black. Update: I've purchased 3 of these previously and loved them. However, since they're synthetic, they don't last forever so I came for another. It is NOT the same as my previous 3 or 4. It is much shortet - not even close to 12". It's cute on and the clamps are always strong, but it's only a few inches longer than a bun. Not sure what happened but since these all say 12", something changed. Returning and trying again but I'm guessing it will be the same. 5 stars reduced to 3. Original review: I have a few messy buns I bought here on Amazon that I throw on for virtual meetings (I work remote). I wanted to try something new that wasn't quite so uptight looking. This one is a much better match for my hair (very highlighted dark ash blonde) - a little more variation would be a better total match but it looks real. There are wire/cord things inside of it that you can bend to your own tastes. At first I didn't realize that and bent them all around to try different looks - I was afraid they would show. They DO NOT at all, no matter how I style it - so versatile! I bend it up higher and out further for normal wear but closer in for work. My daughter (25) knows I wear the messy buns but she saw this one and said "wow mom, your hair looks so cute!". Claw is VERY strong, in fact a little difficult for me to open. It won't fall off ever. I wore it to work (in person) and I needed to adjust the prongs a few times throughout the day, but I absolutely love it and the claw didn't budge. I would like a little more color variation but the messy bun styles I've tried with highlights were TOO different in color for my hair (like brown and blonde chunks together). My natural hair in the front looks a little brassy in my pics, but it was right after highlighting. Some purple shampoo got a near-perfect match (I always tone a few times after highlighting because I hate brassy). I pull my own hair back into a tiny, tight bun and just clip this on. I pull a little hair over the top and bobby on it there and one on each side because I'm paranoid the clasp will show. It doesn't though, but it looks better that way to me. I'm going to buy a spare because I love it so much. Perfect length for what my hair would look like if I spent an hour poofing up my own pony. Buy it! I was very pleased with the look and feel of this hair piece. It actually matched my hair color very well. My natural hair is very thin and short which is why I purchased this however the hair piece is very heavy, and the clip is large. I was not able to wear this without extra clips, I didn't have enough natural hair to hold it because of the weight. I am holding onto this though because my hair is growing and there will be a day that I will have enough of my own hair to hold it in place. ... show more

Really disappointed in this, the hair looks and feels very fake, smelled weirdly chemically, no shape to it whatsoever and worst of all the color started off nice and ash at the top but the bottom of the piece is the same bright yellow as a marshmallow Easter Peep.
