Such a heartwarming and empowering book that beautifully teaches young readers about the transformative power of words, attitude, and self-reflection. I could definitely relate to my oldest daughter’s experiences where at times she may struggle with negativity, frustration and an unkind demeanor that pushes others away. Reading this book helped to reinforce new strategies. We really enjoyed the magical nighttime visit from the Fairy Word Mother helping Cindyella realize the impact of her words and the energy she could bring into the world to create a powerful change. It’s important how the book doesn’t shy away from the fact that change is difficult and Cindyella acknowledges her own wrongdoings and works hard to shift her mindset. This message is powerful for children (and a great reminder for us adults) as it reinforces the idea that self-improvement is possible with effort and awareness, how we can influence our reality. Cindayella is not only beautifully illustrated with a relatable storyline, it demonstrates the power of our words without being preachy. This is a great book for older toddlers through 1st grade or so, especially kids who are struggling with their big feelings and how to express them. Great illustrations, powerful story, quality print! This book came out just on time for my kids 7&9 yo when they are going through some emotional social experiences they needed support with. I think this book is a must for any child. Illustrations are so cozy and bright too, it’s just nice to turn every page, the text is easy to read and is in proper places throughout the book (not randomly thrown into pictures). ... show more
