its a small, slightly noisy unit, but it actually seems to work as well or even better than the downdraft exhaust on my range. It did not appear to 'catch' and oil in the catch container, but it certainly sucked the steam/etc from frying into the unit, and was easy to take the filters out and clean after. ... show more

it does work to some extent, but not much at all. my main concern was how well it could filter smell, and it didnt do a very good job. it mitigates some of the smell but not all. also, it doesnt filter out oil so when the air blows out on the other side, the food smell isnt as strong, but the air fully smells like cooking oil and my whole room smells like cooking oil ... show more
