I love everything about these - from the upturned toes to the 'shoe shoe shoe' laces. They do run a bit small - I had to return my normal 8.5 for a 9...and they sent back a 9.5, which ended up being perfect, since I want to wear thick socks. The style really lends itself towards 'cartoon clunky' anyway, so big isn't bad. The materials and quality are good for 30 bucks, and they seem like they'll hold up well. I wanted a red looking boot and loved the funky look. I thought I ordered an 8.5 but when they arrived and I put one on, it appeared a bit large. I checked the size on the box and it said 9 but the tag inside the shoes says 9.5. Normally I would have returned them but I put on some thick socks. and they were roomy enough at the toes that I decided to try wearing them around the house. I fell in love with them and I don't care if they look like I have humungous feet, I decided to keep them. I have worn them a couple of times to the church to work on Christmas Child Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse and they are very comfortable. At 71 years of age, I thank goodness for any small comfort.
