I'm not quite ready to hang these lights outside, but I did set them up in the garage to look at. The lights do work as advertised, however be aware that these LEDs don't show the deep bold blues, reds, greens shown in the advertising. They are a lighter shade of color. Still attractive, but... I'm looking forward to setting them up this Christmas. I have a massive holly bush (or tree?) And this set will be much easier to place on it instead of trying to use a net or wrap strands around it. I also like the star topper (those LEDs are in fact a deeper shade of color). I'm on the fence regarding the price tag. It's a lot of lights, but not quite what I hoped color wise. I'm gonna go with 4 stars, just remember I warned you about the color... ... show more

    • Simple patterns over a wide area

This light set comes with a big plastic star at the top, with nine strings of lights hanging off it. The set also includes some ground pins so that you can anchor the bottoms of the strands to the ground, and the power adpater has a button which allows you to select different modes. Everything works well enough, and achieves a festive glow with little effort - just hang the top, stake the bottoms and plug it in. The multicolor pattern is a little simplistic - each strand has small LEDs in sequence - red, green, yellow then blue. This pattern repeats down each strand. If the red lights are on, the yellow lights are on. If the green lights are on, so are the blue ones. The patterns change intensity of flashing, but there's no real motion as each color LED is fixed in place, and can only display one color. I don't want draw the ire of my neighbors by having my Christmas lights up in October, so I checked these out of the box. That said, it will be so easy to install. Simply get a hook on a pole some feet off the ground (lower and you'll have a "fatter" tree, higher if you want a slim tree). Once the hook is up, hang the star, pull each of the 9 strands to the ground and use the included landscape stake to secure, and you're done. The lights are bright and colorful. Four colors, blue, green, red, orange, and you can cycle through eight different flashing, twinkling, glowing options. The only downside I found is that there were no directions at all. Not that it isn't VERY easy to figure out, however if you weren't aware that this had different lighting modes, you likely wouldn't find out. While each of the eight mode names is printed on one side of the plug, nothing tells you that if you push the button on the end, you'll cycle through the modes. Otherwise, the button on the end looks like a breaker reset. Other than that minor detail, this is a nice decoration. ... show more

I am excited to add this to my outdoor holiday display this year. The lights are nice and brightly colored. You can do different lighting effects if you choose to, there are about 7 different ones. I like that each light strand is wrapped in the box, making it easier to put up and not tangle. As you take them down for the next year, I would wrap each one again so they don't tangle and you have the ease of set up the following holiday. ... show more

I ordered these for holiday decorations because we love to decorate our house around Christmas time and I think that this product will make a great addition to our overall look. It's a bit too early to start putting out our decorations, but I opened the box and tested the lights and everything is working great. The lights have a large star at the top that lights up and nine "branches" with stakes to put into the ground. So, everything you need to install the lights is included. I recommend this product and think that the price is worth the quality. The only "negative" I would say is that the product description says "Wedding Party" at the end of the description, but I can't imagine what type of wedding that would be.... The lights look great, and I love the way they spread out from the star. I do wish the star was a clear plastic rather than opaque white, because it washes out the color of the lights in the star, but it's still very pretty.
