The wrinkles weren't bad without the iron. I am sure they would have relaxed after hanging for awhile, or a toss in the dryer on low, probably would get rid of them. I purchased this to insulate the door from the down stairs hallway to help heat the house more evenly. We have a split level so naturally heat rises upstairs and every time the front door opens the could air goes down. This little curtain is just exactly the right size for the door and it is noticably warmer downstairs when you open the curtain. It's thick and heavy fabric. We have a very large fish tank with a very bright light over it. It works it's blackout magic on the light. You can't tell it's on on the other side of the curtain.
