There are many pieces to this desk. Read over the instructions carefully, several times before beginning. Once you understand how to assemble, it is fairly easy. It will take some time but, the final outcome is worth it. This is a beautiful two drawer desk that once assembled is very sturdy and functional. I searched for a desk of this size as I needed it to fit in a small nook in my loft. A perfect fit. There is plenty of room for a 15 inch laptop, a mobile phone, mouse pad, and several handheld ham radios. The finish is nice, no defects noted. The two drawers are very roomy and provide storage for pads of paper, staplers, pens, pencils, and other office necessities. As with any desk, I recommend ordering a desk top clear vinyl protector. Great for small areas, but if you are not used to putting things together, plan to spend a little bit. I’m not a total idiot, but the drawer brackets were definitely a challenge. and understanding the clamping sustem they use was a little confusing as well. If you’re struggling, make sure you screw in the screws BEFORE you screw in the clamps. That being said, its definitely sturdy and PERFECT for small spaces (I got the 40 inch by 22 inch. Instructions are simple and easy to read. You can build it by yourself but its just a little tough so Id recommend having someone help you. The quality of the wood is very nice. Ive had it for months now and it looks exactly the same as when i first bought it. The drawers are alot more spacious than i thought they were going to be. I can fit so much of my stuff in there. Rarely do I write a negative review. I have assembled hundreds of Amazon, Ikea and other furniture pieces including RTA kitchen cabinets. NEVER have I encountered something like this. The instructions are horrific!! The drawer slides, which are the same used in many of these products, and labeled CR and CL are here referred to as M left M or Right M (even though the part says CR or CL the pictures are so tiny trying to figure out what screw hole is used is nuts. The is one wooden dowel used. The rest are cam locks and screws. Even gently Turing the cam lock posts till the shoulder meets the wood has 50% of them never feeling resistance to being tight. While each piece of wood has 6 sides.not all six sides are painted. This adding another piece are left bare (must save a penny) but will be a concern if humidity or moisture is near. Like many, they give you little white stickers to cover the cam locks that can be seen. Choose carefully as there are no extras and not enough to cover them all if you want to cover the ones exposed when drawers are out. Sadly.....it's a nice compact design and not a bad looking desk. Just too many assembly headaches and shortcomings to Mae it worth the while.Obviously once your assembled it like me, you're not returning it ... show more
