The toe tubes do in fact cushion the stress on the large toe when exercising vigorously. They are especially helpful when jumping and using a platform. They are tight and somewhat difficult to place on the large toe.

Don't cut them off to short, just a little shorter than your toe length and you will be fine. They last a long time and sprinkle a little baby powder inside of the sleeve and you will be more comfortable using them.
