Sometimes you just need to buy some good hard wood. Kiln dried because no one wants their wood moist and musty. Dimensions are accurate, quality is great. Frequent buyer. Usually mahogany and butternut for knife carving. Like any wood at times grain pattern not a good match for a project so I usually buy 4 pieces at a time and match wood to carving.
