Description

Cherry has no rivals that are as easy to work, fine textured, strong and regal in color. It's highly rated in all working properties, including wood bending and turning. Cherry's color ages to a richer, rusty red brown with any clear finish. The wood of true cherry has a reddish-brown color that darkens slightly with age. The color can be enhanced by applying a stain. This wood accepts stain very readily and will take a high-gloss finish. Cherry wood has a fine, uniform texture with a smooth, satiny luster. Bought two 3/4 x 6 x 36” for a cutting board project. Boards arrived in good packaging. One was perfectly straight while the second was cupped and had to be jointed and planed. Nothing extraordinary about the grain or figure but it will work for the project.
