...rotten grape bubble gum. Yes, rotten. I didn't know bubble gum *could* rot, but now I'm convinced. Seriously -- this stuff smells horrible. Passers by even commented on the smell of this product, and not in a good way. However... The product redeems itself in its functionality, and FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. I did a full paint correction and ceramic coat (Avalon King Armor Shield IX) on my totally opaque black Lexus in July 2021, and was pleased with the results, so I didn't really expect this Chemical Guys product to do much beyond maybe help the ceramic coat last a little longer. To my astonishment, the Chemical Guys HydroSudz Ceramic High Shine wash truly *did* make my car shinier. Seriously, it was blinding (see pics). I totally had retinal burn for a minute after taking those pics. In addition to that, it seemed to *enhance* the hydrophobic properties of the existing ceramic coating, and drying the car took very few towels (which is great, because I hate folding those things afterward). I probably could have driven it around the block and it would have been totally dry. Additionally (I know it's bad), but I actually washed my car after just having driven it briefly (the hood was still warm) *and* washed it in the (mottled) sunlight at about 50 degrees. I was expecting some streaks or spots because of this, but...nothing. Clearly the Chemical Guys wash played a part in this. Another comment by passers by: "Wow! That car looks like I could eat off of it!" Please don't. (I mean, with a car this shiny and clean, you totally *could*...but just don't. The food probably would just slide right off, anyway. ;-) ... show more

Was terrified to wash my car this car season. I had it professionally ceramic coated at the beginning of the season, it cost a lot of money but was worth it because it turned out amazing. I avoided getting it wet all season. If it would get dirty I would blow off the dirt with a leaf blower and then use some spot shine here and there. But I did not wash it, I was afraid I would ruin it somehow. The most recent show I went to completely caked the car in dust because of the lack of rain lately. No amount of trying with my leaf blower could blow the dirt off. I was left with no choice but to wash it. I selected this car wash because it's pH balanced for ceramic coated cars. I used the inconjunction with a car Wash foam gun. I have to say it turned out great. I wet the car, then covered it in foam, sprayed the foam off so it would carry the dirt away, then foamed it and hand washed it. It looks amazing! And nose water spots! I highly recommend this to anyone that has a ceramic coated car. ... show more

    • decent soap, but still not as good as their carbon flex vitalize soap.

Normally, I use their CFlex Vitalize soap, but its incredibly hard to find any more, so tried this stuff. Some folks have complained about the smell, to me it smells like a blueberry-grape mix, but that's besides the point here! After all, we should be reviewing the cleaning properties of the soap, not the smell, that's just a bonus!!! So, for cleaning properties, this soap is quite thin with a consistency similar to an apc and not a thick soap like I've come to expect. Very slippery feeling and takes a bit more to wash off the vehicle, either with a canon or hand wash. It cleans well and leaves a squeaky-clean surface. With most of my vehicles coated with CQuartz, this soap seems to enhance water sheeting as it should, since this is an SiO2 fortified product. Overall, a 6.5/10, where I feel the CFlex Vitalize soap is a solid 9.5/10. Will continue to use this soap, will try some others from Chemical Guys when this one is empty, and will also use the CFlex that I still have left once every few washes just to make sure I'm getting a bit more SiO2 application with every few washes. ... show more
