Overall I'm happy with the purchase. But a few items certainly could be better. The engineers on this thing must have just graduated. 1) Grease cannot get to the grease tray. It all drops into the water bucket. 2) the racks will tilt forward if you pull the part way out. They will fall on the floor if you pull them half way out 3) The light made me laugh. It doesn't shine inside the unit. It lights up the top of the door jam. 4) the vents are not adjustable. They are always open. So you don't get to control the amount of smoke that escapes. 5) the door doesn't stay open. And of course it's quite hot when in use. You will need to either figure out how to prop it open or do everything with one hand. 6) the smoker box does not last 6 hours as advertised. A full box is done in about 4 hours. 7).the remote doesn't come with it. You will need to buy it from CharBroil separately 8) when cooking with the probe it doesn't tell you the internal oven temp. 9) it takes 30-45 min to preheat Even given all that it still does a great job and in the end that's all that really matters. But just dang it... a little more thought and this thing could have been perfect ... show more

    • Good little smoker, love the remote sensor.

This thing performed like a champ from day 1. I've smoked pork and beef ribs, chicken, fish, etc. and all have turned out great. As a number of commenters have stated, a full rack of ribs does not fit on the shelf, I cut my rack of ribs in half and still get great results. A little bit worrisome, is there appears to be a small spot of rust forming on the top, we live in a fairly humid area in OK. I plan on sanding that down and hitting it with some primer and high temp paint and hope for the best. A smoker cover has also been purchased even though this is in a covered location on our back porch. Also, wood chips seem to work best on this, the wood pellets never seem to get hot enough to really start smoking sufficiently. If interested, since I had both pellets and chips, I was able to get decent smoke with pellets by layering the bottom half of the smoker box with chips and then added a top layer of pellets of the same wood. With this method the pellets did seem to get hot enough being in contact with the chips. ... show more

I’ve had this smoker for quite a while and my husband loves it.most of the parts in it had to be replaced,though the company did replace all the parts that we needed, but it was a huge inconvenience till the parts came in and it was new and the parts still had to be replaced
