These are very bright LEDs and the color range is just as good as I expected. One thing I will note for other customers is because these LEDs are clear, the colors don't really "mix" you will have to diffuse them somehow if you want your project to appear as if it has one LED capable of generating many colors otherwise you can clearly see the beam of light from each individual color chip. If I were to buy again, I would probably look for diffused RGB LEDs. As a quick fix, I put a frosted finish on a few of them using some 120 grit sandpaper and that worked just fine. The front of the package indicates that the longest lead is GND, and even specifies the voltage to each positive lead. Red doesn't require as much power, so you'll have to give it a higher value resistor than blue and green. All parts arrive in a small plastic bag but surprisingly, I didn't find any bent leads. It would have been nice to only have to purchase 20 or 30 since I only had one project in mind for these, but the rest go in my parts bins for next time and it's okay to have extra stock. ... show more

Allowed for broad selection of color using Arduino and an a breadboard. Having a spec sheet would have help but in fairness the fundamentals were in the product description online. Very pleased.

They met expectations mostly. They are cheap and seem to function well for what they are. Two things: 1) The text in description is correct. These ARE common-cathode LEDs. However, the little picture in the description photos, while labeled correctly, shows the diodes in the opposite direction as would be proper for a common anode device, not common-cathode. 2) When lighting multiple diodes, the individual diodes seem separated by more space internal to the package than I would expect, and therefore the blending of colors is pretty uneven. IE: When you turn them all on, it is not a uniform white, but different tints in different areas of the device. This can be somewhat mitigated by lightly abrading the surface to scatter and blend better. Minor nit, though. ... show more

The LEDs were exactly what I needed for indicator lights where Green = Okay, Yellow = Caution and Red = Something needs immediate attention. By testing the LEDs with various resistors, those colors were easily obtained. The LEDs are very bright compared to others that I've used. The price was much lower than those others. Good product. Simple to use, choice of 3 colors. Also the lens is such that you can actually project the colors onto a ceiling or wall. They appear as slightly offset overlapping rings, which can create some very nice artistic color effects.
