Comfortable, not flattering, no pockets. I'm always between a medium and a large. I ordered a large and while I feel like I could have use a medium waist, I definitely need the large in the rear. These are very comfortable and I will be wearing as lounge wear, but not flattering and I wouldn't wear in public. Big thigh girl here, these are probably my favorite pair of shorts now. They are not very soft and are a bit of a heavier material but I think that’s what makes them so great at not riding up in the middle when my thighs rub. It’s been great being able to walk around and not constantly adjusting my shorts. I will definitely buy more of these shorts. I have been looking for comfy black cotton shorts for chilling, walking the dog, hanging in the yard.. everything I find is either too short (I'm 57 years old, nobody needs to be seeing me in short-shorts) or else really long. My husband would joke that they look like Hulk pants lol. These are just right. I'm 5'8 & 150lbs, wear a size 10. I decided on size L because I like a very comfy fit but I might have been able to wear a M if I liked my shorts very fitted. It may depend where you carry your weight - mine is at my waist now :/ so a larger size feels better. They feel like a medium weight slightly stiff T shirt material.
