They hold up when they are washed. They are easy to clean as well. I always use "Free & Clear" detergent and it does very well with keeping cloths looking sharp. The best thing is the pockets are deep enough to where you don't have to worry about things falling out. That is hard to find on any shorts. Whether they are gym shorts or casual shorts. These are great fitting shorts. I’m 6’1” and they reach my knees which is what I prefer. I had a few pairs of Layer 8 which were really nice but hard to find these days. These Champions are really comfortable.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: My son loves Champion shorts and I saw them here for a good price. He’s 6ft tall and about 210lbs. They fit him well and they don’t ride up on him. They’re a nice length as well. It’s really hot right now here in Florida. He said that they’re very comfortable. We haven’t laundered them yet but they look like they’ll hold up well ... show more

    • Finally, a pair of gym shorts I actually Love!

I’m pretty picky about gym shorts. I usually find that they’re either way too long (hitting mid-calf) or the material is so thick that I’m dripping sweat before I even finish my warmup. I grabbed these Champion 7-inchers on a whim, and they’ve quickly become my "first out of the drawer" pair. What I actually like: • The Weight: These things are incredibly light. It’s a thin, breathable polyester that almost feels like you’re wearing nothing—but in a secure, non-see-through way. • The Length: The 7-inch inseam is the "sweet spot." They sit just above the knee, so you don't look like you’re wearing 90s basketball shorts, but you’re also not showing too much leg during squats. • Deep Pockets: Usually, lightweight shorts have tiny pockets where your phone slides out the second you sit down. These pockets are surprisingly deep, and the little hidden zipper pocket is a lifesaver for my car keys or gym ID. • Drying Time: I’ve worn these on some humid outdoor runs and they don't get heavy when they get wet. They also air-dry super fast after a wash. A few things to note: • The "Swish" Factor: Because it’s a woven performance fabric, there is a bit of a "swish-swish" sound when you walk. It’s not loud, but if you’re looking for silent cotton-style shorts, these aren't it. • No Liner: These don't have a built-in brief/liner. For me, that’s a plus because I prefer wearing my own compression shorts underneath, but just a heads-up if you’re used to lined running shorts. • The Waistband: It’s a nice, wide elastic band that doesn't roll down, but the drawstring is a little on the long side. I usually have to tuck it in so it’s not flopping around during HIIT. The Verdict: If you want a solid, "no-nonsense" pair of shorts for lifting, running, or even just lounging in the summer heat, you can't really beat these for the price. Can probably find better deals for similar products at Walmart or something, but this probably is a bit better quality and more durabile. I really like these shorts. Comfy, well built, breathe well, but the pockets are about 1" too shallow for our Samsung phones if doing any type of movement where the thigh comes up past 45 degrees like when kneeling down.
