(This review is under my husband's name, but I am a woman.) I am giving this sports bra 4 stars because, even though it's PERFECT for me, it's not for everyone. First of all, these definitely run small. I'm barely a 36B. According to the sizing chart, I should be a medium. Trying this bra on in a store, I couldn't even get the medium on. (I bought one bra at Target, then once I knew the size I bought more on Amazon.) Most people would have probably liked the large, but I can't stand a tight fit, so I went for XL. It's still snug like a sports bra should be, but I can get it off without a struggle, even after a good workout. This is not a very supportive bra. It says "medium support," but I think it's more like light support. Fortunately, I don't really need a lot. It does not have any kind of padding in the cup, and the material is a bit thin. But again, that's what I was looking for. I don't want padding. I don't need much support. Just a bit of tight fabric to keep things in place while I run. Finally, the color on the "pop art pink" was not what I expected. It was more red than pink. That's the only thing that had me slightly disappointed, but I can live with it. I also have a black one and a grey one, and those colors are fine.

I'm a 34D so I ordered a large because that's what the size chart said. I tried it on and the "straps" were way too loose and the band a bit loose. I ordered a medium and that fit way better! I've worn it around the house and it's comfortable. The material is moisture wicking. This held up well for a mile run, I haven't tried longer distance but I'm confident it will hold up well. I own various sports bras of different brands and this is by far one of the best I've had, especially given the price! I just wish I'd gotten more when they were on sale, but I'll definitely buy more.

NOTE: This review applies to the BLACK Champion Absolute Sports Bra with SmoothTec Band. (Other colors may vary in specifics.) MATERIAL: This sports bra is a great option if you’re looking for something unpadded but modest. The material is thicker than other similar sports bras such as the Under Armour Mid Sports Bra and has a very slight ribbing texture that helps make up for no pads. Although the material is thicker, it doesn’t retain heat. I personally find it cooler than the Lululemon Flow Y Bra during a jog! Moisture wicking is great for the price, but sweat can pool up just a little above the band during a hard workout. DESIGN & FUNCTION: The bra has nice clean lines and minimizes rather than lifts. The T-strap design is very functional as it keeps me cool and isn’t noticeably outlined when worn under a tee shirt. The SmoothTec Band does not ride up on me. The straps exert some pressure on the trapezius, but this gives more support to the front of the bra. As other reviewers have pointed out, this bra is most-likely better suited for smaller breasted women when it comes to impact sports. I use this bra for running and it provides ample support for me. DURABILITY: For the price, these bras hold up pretty well. I ordered two in 2017 and one in 2019. I wear them all the time—lounging, running errands, or exercising. The 2 bras I ordered in 2017 are wearing out; the SmoothTec Band is bunching on the interior but this is probably because I used to wring them out after hand washing instead of patting them gently. The 2019 bra is still in great condition! (As a side note, I also ordered an Under Armour Mid Sports Bra in 2017 and it completely wore out by 2019.) SIZING: I’m 5ft 3in, 130 lbs, and size 34A. I ordered both the XS and S sizes in this bra and the XS was too small, cutting into my sides. The S fits perfectly although it was a bit of a wrestle to get it on the first time. After the first few wears it stretched to fit comfortably. CONCERNS: If you’re wearing a shirt over the bra, the straps are noticeable at the neckline even if you’re wearing a crewneck. This is a tighter fitting bra and the straps exert pressure on the trapezius which is not ideal for those who have neck or back conditions. Sweat can pool up just a little above the band during a hard workout.

Like the description says, its moderate support. I prefer high support because I do plyometrics and run a lot. For reference, I like sports bras that hug my boobs so tight that they don't move at all and I can forget that I even have boobs. I am a 32B and 5'1, about 105lbs. When I'm on the pill, my boobs get fuller and more sensitive so when I run in this bra it hurts for the first 10 minutes of running before I get used to it. I got the small and it fits well enough that I didn't exchange, but after wearing them for a few months, I wish I had sized down to an XS. I should have looked at the sizing guide more closely. The bras shrunk a little since I got them but not too much. Overall, I think these bras will hold up for a few years. Not a bad purchase.

Back cut-away design means less fabric on sides, therefore less support. I wear Champion sports bras regularly, and this is not true to size. It's a cute style but not for any kind of impact sports, and only for small breasted women. While small compared to other styles, the rib band had no extra elastic or support-it was the same strength/stretchiness as the bra part, causing it to ride up. I returned this bra. I also ordered the Freedom Racerback and it fit like all my other Champion sports bras, so I am keeping that. Quality, construction and fabric are as expected for this brand.

I read the product listing very carefully, all the q&a mention that this bra is lightly lined with removable padding. I think they’ve “recycled” this listing for a different product. The item matches the product photos but the Champion bra I received has no padding or lining and I could actually make out the tag through the fabric. I have included photos of the item in question, including the tag, in case this listing is being reused you’ll know which item I’m reviewing.
