Let's start out by saying theses aren't $150 speakers. But in the world of under $100 these are some of the better ones you will find. Big bass when run at head unit power. A bit harsh on high end but adjustment can compensate. Bright highs and mids with solid bottom for under $40? SOLD! P.S. I just ordered my third pair. Installed these in my 2008 Acura TSX. Like stated in the headline and a previous reviewer, these sound like mini subwoofers! They put out that signature Cerwin Vega boomy low end sound!! I was actually very surprised. This was the first upgrade I did before adding a subwoofer to my new daily driver and I ALMOST didn't need a subwoofer (I'm still not over subwoofers in a box). If you want room in the trunk and don't want to buy a subwoofer these are made for you! The OEM Pioneer amp for the TSX only puts out low end signal for the 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. 2017 f150 xlt (crew cab) without upgraded system... I have the larger display but that's it... music sounded flat without very much in the way of highs. I tried replacing the center speaker first but that didnt help much because there isnt enough power going to that speaker. I installed these cerwin vega 6x9s and I couldnt be more happy... the dual tweeters did the trick. I was worried there wouldn't be enough watts from the stereo, but it drives them just fine. As far as bass, I'm not sure, I have 2 12 inch infinity shallow subs under the back seat in that ported qbomb box made for the truck. Sounds awesome. Best system build I've done after all these years. Used a pioneer gm84 something to power the subs. I'd go with these cerwin vegas for the doors though. I did a lot of research before I purchased them and I was right. Fit perfect with the Metra speaker base (saddle?) Not sure what to call it but you need it for the f150 for the new speaker to attach to. Good luck! ... show more

Holy crap these sound great. I would not suggest these for a vehicle without a sub. They can be a bit thin at times. A sub will balance that right out though. I will be getting two more for the back of my extended cab truck. They are very powerful and very clear. At one time these were a top of the line brand. So I am getting to be what I think is an older guy and did not even know they still made car speakers. For under $40.00 a set you will not be sorry. I will repeat the sub thing again though. They will seem thin without one. These will not make your neighbors hate you, but you might love your music a little more ... show more

I used these to replace the rear speakers in a 2007 Honda Accord. I cut the lip off of the original speaker grilles and it snapped down perfectly, it looks factory but sounds much better than the stock speakers using the factory stereo. They bolted right up using the existing holes and bolts. I cut the connectors off of the factory speakers and soldered them onto the terminals of these speakers so that they would plug straight into the factory connections! ... show more

Update: Installed a 200w Kenwood bluetooth stereo, and these speakers sound even better now. Also replaced the worn out Polk 4x6's in front with Cerwin Vega. Very happy with the setup. I put Boom Mat speaker baffles behind these 6x9's for even better bass, and what a difference! Makes for a very well balanced and powerful sounding system. Excellent speakers! Low price! Clearly defined sound, and more bass than I expected running off my old Alpine deck at 35 watts per channel. More than loud enough. Perfect fit in my third gen Firebird. Screw holes lined right up and the fit was fine, even though the magnets, basket are much bigger than my old clapped out Pioneer speakers. I also ordered Cerwin Vega 4x6 speakers for the dash, the HED series, have not replaced fronts yet. Even so, the sound quality is so much better now just with these new 6x9's. Night and day difference. Very clean and crisp highs, bright treble, full midrange and deep bass, detailed sound. Well packaged, speakers arrived on time and in perfect condition. For less than 50 dollars these are a steal. I'm very happy with them. I might add a powered subwoofer to enhance the bass, because I like excessive bass. However, not necessary since these speakers are very well balanced, with enough low end to make my rear fenders vibrate if I crank the volume a bit. (Boom Mat speaker baffles solved this issue.) They don't take a lot of power to drive them, so they are good speakers to run without an amp. That being said, they would likely sound even better with an amp, or a more powerful head unit than what I currently have. Highly recommended. I'm sure there are probably more expensive speakers with slightly better sound quality, power handling, but I gave 5 stars because the sound quality is so very good, beyond what the price would suggest, and the price is one of the lowest out there. Didn't use the grills because my stock sail panel covers the speaker with its own grill. But the grills are nice looking. Comes with wires and mounting hardware which I didn't need, the old plugs matched the new speaker terminals (ended up using the new wires to be on safe side). Also good to know these 6x9's have gotten excellent reviews and made several lists of top ten speakers to buy, up against brands costing much more. Very impressed! ... show more

Put a set in my work truck around a year ago behind the seats in wedge boxes with a supposably 500w amp turnt down fairly low they sound pretty decent for an ((economy)) series Vega branded product. Sound quality is not as crisp as more expensive ones but it's definitely cleaner than others I've tried in the past. They seem to be playing as clear as the day I installed them and I crank them daily when I'm on the road but I have my gain set low enough to avoid distorting.
