I have tried too many mineral sunscreens to count. Each year, I try a handful of new ones and decided to try tinted sunscreens this year, even though I don't like the foundation look. This is the best so far, in terms of texture, sun protection, greasy versus matte and color. I read the reviews before ordering and saw many complained about an orange tint and looking too oompa loompa, but not sure what they are talking about, because I don't see it on me. It actually blends into my skin looking very natural. On the other hand, the Neutrogena tinted sunscreens I find are too pink and red based and is thicker so more like a foundation. The cerave is more beige, maybe a slight apricot, golden hue. Just makes me look healthier and sun kissed, so I have no complaints! I do have more of a warm coloring, rather than cool, so maybe that's why it worked for me. ... show more

This stuff is fantastic. As a Mojave desert dweller who hikes frequently, I've already reordered just to make sure I don't go a day without it. It spreads easily, blends perfectly, and gives me a lovely dewy glow. Prior tinted sunscreens I've tried are just too light for my naturally light tan skin (I'm 1/4 Asian) and have made me look weirdly pinkish and pasty. I've found some great sheer sunscreens but a good tinted one has been out of reach until CeraVe. It doesn't melt and make my eyes burn, it's gentle on my sensitive skin, and it prevents sunburn while giving me a nice even complexion. I bought this because I'd heard that mineral-based sunscreen was better for rosacea-prone skin, and I ABSOLUTELY love this stuff! I love the tinting effect-- I wear it like a foundation and it matches my fair/pink-toned skin well and really smooths out my complexion-- but it's also been noticeably less irritating and pore-clogging than the chemical facial sunscreen, so my skin looks better in the longer-term too. The tint is subtle enough that I feel like it would work with a wide range of medium to fair skin tones, but it's hard to know what it would look like with darker skin tones, so if you have darker skin, using the non-tinted version with (or without) a foundation on top would likely be the best bet. ... show more

When first squeezing from the tube, the color reminded me of a chocolate chip cookie. After applying a few dabs on face, I thought it would be too light. But it applies very easily into your skin and blends right in. Also applied to back of hands and same result. Leaves a dewy, moisturizing glow. However, if you have oily or greasy skin, this may not work for you. Have not tested in the sun yet but believing it will be as described. I love this tinted face sunscreen. It blends in perfectly, I have a more medium light complexion and with the summer I look like I have fresh clean skin with this on. I’m someone who has worn foundation, no matter what, my whole life, so for this to work as well as it does is like a face routine liberation! I am excited to find this product for a few reasons. First, it is a sun screen with zinc oxide which is one of the ingredients a skin doctor will say is essential (there are a few other choices.) It is also a moisturizer, very creamy, but not greasy, and easy to apply. Plus, it is tinted, and I find I can actually use it during the daytime in lieu of foundation. This product goes on so creamy, but the consistency is light. Easy to blend in with fingers, and a little goes a long way. The tint does not leave a white cast. I have dry skin, so I use a moisturizer and then the Cerave sunscreen. It absorbs easily and leaves a nice glow. I add some lightweight bronzing powder and blush. My skin looks great and doesn't look or feel cakey at all. I love the way it feels and looks. So very happy I purchased this! If you have very oily skin, this may not be the sunscreen for you. I couldn't find my usual eye area spf cream by DermaDoctor that has a tint so I used this. My second time using this around the eye area. This time though, I slathered it on like a regular, non-irritating eye cream and it was just that! I don't have really bad circles to cover so I don't bother with a concealer. I used a non-irritating eye cream from Trader Joe's and then this. Excellent because I'm almost out of my DermaDoctor eye SPF! I'm happy to know that I can just use this.
