I have had this cello for a few months now and I am very satisfied with the purchase. This is my forever cello. It looks and sounds beautiful and it is so much more playable than what I had before. That said, there are some things a prospective buyer should know before purchasing: 1. My cello was shipped with a different set of strings than was advertised. I contacted DZ Strad and they were responsive and professional in resolving the issue - they shipped out a fresh set of Larsen/Spirocore strings immediately. Excellent customer service. 2. The bridge wasn't quite right - the notch for the A string was slightly too close to the D string. Nothing a little cutting/filing couldn't fix. 3. Most importantly, the bow that comes with this cello is not adequate for the instrument. I was test driving several cellos and bows at the same time, and other bows made this instrument sound better. I myself was quite surprised at the difference in sound that different bows produced (an interesting experiment), but if you are considering this cello, you should build some additional money into your budget to procure a higher-quality bow. If the stock bow were better, this would be a slam dunk 5-star review, because I LOVE this cello! ... show more
