At first I was skeptical about sleeping on a silk pillowcase since I love the feel of my soft Egyptian cotton sheets. However, my hairstylist was telling me that I was getting “mysterious” split ends on the hair on the back of my head. After some research, I decided to try out a silk pillowcase, and boy was I happily surprised. Immediately, I noticed a considerable difference in both my hair and my facial skin. Good bye bedhead, hello silky hair! I can’t believe how much softer and more manageable my hair is not only when I wake up, but throughout the day. My hair feels cleaner, too, but I don’t quite know why. It could be that the silk is keeping my head at a more even temperature while I sleep, or perhaps it is because the silk isn’t absorbing oils from my face or hair. Or maybe it has to do with having less friction for my hair during the night with my tossing and turning. I don’t understand the science behind it, but I can tell about the results. Many of the morning wrinkle marks on my face have disappeared. Unfortunately I still have some wrinkles that I’ve “earned” over my 50 plus years, but my face looks considerably fresher and less wrinkled in the morning than when I was using my cotton pillowcase. I highly recommend Celestial Silk. They provide a high quality product. My first silk pillowcase was from LilySilk, also a great product. However, Celestial Silk pillowcases are more reasonably priced. I was so impressed with sleeping on my silk pillowcase that I ordered a “bunch” of them from Celestial Silk for Christmas gift giving.

So I know nothing about silk and momme but wanted to get a silk pillowcase for my curly hair that always ends up a frizzy mess in the morning. I wanted to see for myself the difference between the momme and whether higher momme was really worth the higher price point. I tried a 19 momme one that was around $20, a 21 momme one that was around $25 and this one which is 25 momme and closer to $40. You could definitely tell the difference between the 19 momme one and the 21 and 25 momme ones. I would not invest in 19 momme. It was much thinner than this case and honestly felt a little more like satin than I would want (though I also ordered satin cases and it was definitely softer and more silk like than those but not as soft as the 21 and 25 momme cases). As for the differences between this one and the 21 momme: this case felt more durable. As far as softness and silkiness, they were both pretty similar but this case felt slightly thicker and I had the impression that it would probably hold up better if put through the wash and possibly hold up better over time but only time could tell. However, I give it three stars for value for the money because I am a college student and on a budget and though this 25 momme case felt slightly more durable, the difference in feel and quality wasn’t worth twenty more dollars in my opinion. The 21 momme one is great quality and works fine. I will have to put it through the wash to see how it holds up, but in my opinion, the one downside to this case is the price. That 4 momme difference isn’t worth $20 to me but maybe it is to you. Overall great silky smooth case and a pretty comparable price for 25 momme if that’s what you’re set on. (My case did come with what looked to be a small stain on it but if I had chosen to keep this case, since I have Prime, I would have just exchanged it for free for another so I didn’t feel that this affected my review).

So soft you can tell it's silk just from feeling it; but regardless I did end up burning some stray fibers I had found and it burned like silk :) The company is a small business and donates a % of their earnings to those in need. That alone should be a reason to buy from this company. The one drawback about this pillow case is that it does not have a zipper closure; it does however use a pocket closure and so far I've had no issues with it coming off the pillow so it's definitely still a 5 star product.

I love silk and I buy a lot of it. This luxurious pillowcase is by far the best quality out of the many brands I have purchased. You can feel the thick texture and see a glittering sheen and also the color is gorgeous. *update I bought another one in pink and unfortunately there was a little snag in it. I’m not sure what to do about that because I’m afraid it’s going to lead to a hole but hopefully it remains together. Besides that it’s beautiful and high quality like the blue one. Extremely Luxurious and soft on hair and skin.

Great price on these lovely cases, about the same I’ve paid before for just 22 momme. I’m not fond of the envelope closure as it’s a bit shallow and the inner tags are big, but the silk is thick and soft and the taupe color I ordered was picture perfect. If someone is a hot sleeper who sweats a lot these will still wrinkle, less than 22 or 19 momme but still wrinkles every night. If you don’t sweat when you sleep there’s no problems. My husband sweats, I don’t, so I have to steam his pillowcases every day so the wrinkles don’t set. If you’re looking for something that won’t wrinkle from hot sleepers you need a 40 - 60 momme bridal satin but those are dry clean and cost a fortune (plus that’s the satin that slips off the bed like a banana peel). TLDR, great fabric great price! But woul be more cost effective for the manufacturer and more convenient to the customer in zipper case at this price. Zippers cost next to nothing, the extra fabric in silk for an envelope enclosure is far more expensive
