The blade holder fits well in the blue adapter for the silhouette cameo 4, and it locks in place in the machine easily. The problem however is that the blade drags across the entire page when it starts and goes back into place when it's done cutting each object. I've tried adjusting the blade to the smallest depth possible, but it still drags. The only way I was able to get it cutting properly was to adjust the blue adapter so it didn't go all the way down to lock in. I put the lock on the bar snugly and it works with the 45 degree blade like it should. ... show more

I purchased this for the engraver. There were no instructions included so I had to google. Not exactly what I expected, but overall works well and for the price you can’t beat it.

The description says it works for cameo 1. It does physically fit in the machine, but there is no depth indicator (the numbers on an actual cameo 1 blade holder). After tearing up the cut strip on my machine trying to guess at the proper depth, i got one that was made specifically for the cameo 1. I'm not even sure that the engraver will work. CB09 blades are said to void your warranty - but I don't have a warranty anymore so it doesn't matter. I havent tried to use it to engrave.

If you want a "light shading" or a "hint" of a design "etched", sure, this is great. I'd assume the blade sent with does as it should, but this is not doing what I need it to do. Ive adjusted settings, done multiple "runs", and its still light as can be. Will be returning for my money back.

I have a couple of cutting machines and have always been interested in engraving. When I saw this bald made specifically for a Silhouette Cameo I decided to give it a try. I wanted to engrave a tag for my dog so I set my file up and went to work. It did take a little trial and error to get the settings exact but once I did my tag turned out beautifully. If you are ok with having to figure out what settings to use then this blade would work perfectly for you. If you want something that you can just plug in and go you might want to look elsewhere. ... show more

I did not even plan on getting this blade until I came across this great deal for it on Amazon. It works great too! The first thing I engraved was a dog tag for my FiFi. I actually even used one of the tags that this tip came with. It came with 7 different tags and I chose the heart one for my puppy. It has a smooth finish and worked greats. I have another CB09 blade holder to compare this one too. This one is more lightweight, aluminum construction, but that does not have an effect on the performance. The blade was easy to install and fits in my Silhouette Portrait 1 perfectly. I managed to get the blade depth perfect for cutting glossy and metallic vinyl. I have a lot of detail points and had a smooth cut on everything. I haven't yet tried the engraver, my machine isn't really meant for engraving, so I am a little nervous. I may need to make sure the aluminum pieces can fit under the roller bar before I break my machine. I wanted this to have a second blade carrier to be able to switch blades for different materials quickly. I like that the spring for the blade is in the holder instead of on the blade, I have lost those little springs before so this might be better. If using different blades that have the springs on them, you should remove the spring before inserting into the holder. ... show more
