I was pleasantly surprised at the quality! I have had this desk for several months, and I LOVE it. It provides a large work area, even with the shelf along the back of it.     • CANNOT GET THE MISERABLE THING PUT TOGETHER.

I give one star because at the moment I cannot get the thing put together. On the Amazon site (I think it was I looked so many places) it said there was a video showing assembly instructions. If there is, I can't find it. I even looked on the seller's 'store' page. My problem is that the printed booklet instructions are truly awful and hard to read. It doesn't help that #6 and #9 in the pieces list aren't clear -- the sticker on two pieces say 9/6. Only one has a line underneath -- which would be fine if the line was UNDER either but the one with the line seems to be ON TOP of the 6 or on top of the 9. Does that mean the same thing? Because if that number is a nine, the line is OVER it as well. I've never see a nine with the line on top either, so which is really which? I finally took a wild guess and it seems to be working. Also the illustrations of the drawer slides are so small, I am having a hard time telling which of the dozen holes I'm supposed to screw in. I really don't want to get this thing completely put together (to the best of my abilities making guesses) and then find out that it doesn't fit together correctly. I have already had to reposition three of the drawer slides already because I put the screws in the wrong hole. I NEED HELP. This BLEEP desk is in pieces all over my living and dining room and I cannot get anyone to help me. JUST TELL ME, IS THERE A VIDEO OR NOT? I've searched Youtube, no luck. And while I'm at it, the veneer of the desk crumbles and flakes very easily. I am keeping a black magic marker at hand so that every time one little piece falls off, I just color it in. If I thought there was any chance of getting it back in the box, I'd return it. But then I'd have to find someone one with a truck to help me get back to UPS or wherever I'd have to take it send it back. I'm thinking I should have picked a much more simple desk, but I let myself decide to spend a little more for what looked like a much nicer desk with more features. ... show more

Overall it’s an ok desk, but there’s a few things they could have done better. The build took me a good four hours and I’m no dummy at putting things together. I don’t think there’s a way around that. My main complaints are the assembly manual is downright wrong in some areas. For one, it misidentifies part numbers, so you have to kind of guess what they really meant. Not good; points to sloppy engineering. Also, some of the wood screws strip out the fiberboard material so they have no holding power. They should use longer screws as there’s plenty of room for that. Finally, as far as complaints go, there were slightly damaged edges on some of the boards. Better packaging could avoid that. On the positive side, the final product works, and looks acceptably nice. I would recommend it, but with the afore mentioned caveats. ... show more

I spent about 5 hours from unboxing to finishing this. First of all it was packaged well and no damage. I'm 69 and worked on this by myself. The instructions were very clear, and all pieces were marked. There are many pieces. I unloaded all the parts in my garage to make clean-up easier. I then brought the parts into my office to assemble. I rather enjoyed putting it together. They say it's easier with two people, and I'm sure it is, but I had no problem doing it myself, including moving the completed desk to where I wanted it. There were no missing parts. I was impressed with the detailed instructions. A step at a time, and it's a piece of cake. This is not a high-quality piece of furniture, hence the price, but when all was said and done, it is sturdy! I had no issues with the drawers. They aligned perfectly. I did chip a piece of the finish off tightening a cam. Be careful inserting the hardware. I used an electric screwdriver as I have arthritis in my hands. Just easier for me. Ordered this for my daughter. We have been looking for a desk/vanity that she could use in her room and have had a difficult time finding something that would fit due to the dormered ceilings in her room. She loved this one because of the space and drawers, so I ordered it during the prime sale. There are a LOT of pieces but it wasn't overly difficult to put it together. However, the quality is not super sturdy, which is why it's the price it is - it seems like it's made from multiple pieces of particle board put together. While my husband was attaching two pieces together, one piece broke away from the other causing a large piece of the wood to be pulled away and making it impossible to put back together. I contacted the seller and they offered to refund me a portion of what I paid, but I explained to them that the desk was not usable due to the damage to the piece. I asked if they could just send the one piece as a replacement - the pieces were labeled so I could specify which piece it was. They agreed to do so, however they ended up sending a whole new desk (which seemed like a waste but oh well). My husband was able to finish putting it together and it's been working out great. He's still unsure about the long term durability of the desk, but so far it's been okay and worked for my daughter's needs. I think as long as we don't have to move it over and over, it should be fine. ... show more
