Our 11 year old orangie has no complaints. I haven't noticed any issues with her digestion. Easy to open, and she gladly eats right out of the can. Good portion of cat food.

Cat food is always a tricky one since some cats will like certain flavors and others won't like them. I highly suggest seeing if you can get this brand/flavor in store as a single can before comitting to an entire pack of them. My cats are not picky eaters and they enjoyed this. Both my 7 year old tuxedo girl and under a year male brown tabby kitten enjoyed it and cleaned their bowls. I cannot attest to the weight control aspect since they get a revolving selection of flavors and brands but it doesn't hurt to have a slightly lighter meal every so often. When you open the can, the food certainly smells fresh and has a lot of moisture in it so your kitties stay hydrated. Overall, a good value for good quality ingredients! ... show more

I used this to feed some chonky stray neighborhood cats we had trapped and fixed. There are 4 of them and I will tell you, for a fact, 2 hated this food. 2 are just happy to eat. So kind of a mixed bag. I don't know why I thought it wouldn't be almost like a soup but it was- very liquid. Cats are still chonky. Don't know how long they're suppose to be on this for but they ran through the cans pretty quickly. If you're cat is finicky, I'm not sure it'll want to eat this. ... show more

I picked this up as a “diet” option for my overly indoor, overly round cat, and I was honestly expecting her to snub it. The texture is more like chunky soup than a firm pate – lots of broth with shreds of chicken – and she went straight in and licked the bowl clean the first few times. It smells like normal wet food (not worse, not better), and even with the extra liquid she didn’t have any stomach upset or soft stools, which I really appreciate with a more sensitive cat. The high-moisture format is a nice bonus since she’s not a big water drinker, and I feel better knowing she’s getting more hydration with her meals. I can’t fairly claim dramatic weight-loss results from one case, but the lower-calorie formula seems to keep her satisfied between meals when I pair it with measured dry food and playtime, and she doesn’t beg quite as hard afterward as she does with some cheaper, filler-heavy wet foods. The trade-off is that it’s definitely pricier than grocery-store cans and the watery consistency won’t appeal to every cat – one of my other cats just licked the broth and walked away – so it may end up as a “works great if they like it” kind of food. For my main chonky girl, though, this has turned out to be a good balance of quality ingredients, extra hydration, and weight-conscious nutrition that she’ll actually eat. ... show more

I can see why they call it weight control cat food. My picky cats would rather starve than eat this food, unfortunately. My cats love another version of Catit canned food. It is one of the few brands 2 of my pickiest eaters will eat so I had high hopes that they would like this as well. No dice. Not one of my 8 cats will eat this food. I've had my cats on Catit dry food in the past and they did well on it, so I decided to try the wet food. Obviously with only trialing a 12 pack of this food, I can't speak to the weight control aspect of it. That would take a longer review period. Both of my female cats immediately ate this, one can be somewhat picky, the other will eat anything. My male cat didn't touch it but he's a total snob when it comes to food, whether cat food or human food, so his response is not indicative of this product really. It's a wetter food, the broth they add to it makes it more of a gravy or mousse type of consistency than a solid wet brick of food. That means it's great for your kitties that need extra hydration or have dental problems and might not be able to chew food well. This stuff is a little expensive compared to other products, but it appears to be better quality than a lot of the other wet foods on the market, so you get what you pay for. The smell of this is like any other wet food, smelly... which the cats love I think. It wasn't overly smelly though. They licked the bowl clean so I know they liked it. ... show more

This chicken flavored canned food comes in a wet pate type form. It has a strong aroma that seems to entice my kitty. She enjoyed the flavor, but didn't eat all of it (a few tablespoons worth). My cat has a very delicate digestive system and most things taken orally trigger soft stools, but this food didn't do that. She's also overweight, so I hope over time, she will start to reduce a bit---if I can get her to eat more of it and less of her usual kibble. The listing price of $32.93 for 12 cans isn't out of line for pet food. However, my opinion in general is that most quality pet foods are cost prohibitive over the long term. ... show more
