This is an attractive and sturdy cat scratcher. One of my two cats loves it. I have other cardboard scratchers but this is the first stand-up variety I’ve seen. It does leave a mess around it from the shredded cardboard and seems to need replacements faster than the other ones I have. I already had to switch the bottom pad to the top in less than a month, and will be ordering refills for it soon.

We noticed that our cats tend to claw at furniture while standing on their hind legs. So, this was perfect. They love to play with the ball in the back. It's nice looking and doesn't stand out as a scratch pad.

Bought this for my cat for some more scratcher variety. He always has trouble with other scratch pads as his arms are just too strong! They move all over the place. At first he didn't care for the scratcher so I had to use some spray catnip to get him interested, now it's the only scratcher he uses! He only uses his other ones now if he absolutely has to, but he forgets he has to put his weight on it so they don't move around. This scratch post barely moves at all despite him going to town on the top scratch pad, and he's at least 12 pounds. He doesn't really care for the toy in the back, but I wasn't really buying this for that anyways. It was a little confusing to put together, at one point I was afraid I would break it from how much force I needed but I'm not that strong anyways so it was probably a me issue. Overall, if you need a scratching post for a larger cat that doesn't move much I highly recommend this product. You might need a little extra motivator for your cat, but it will be well worth it. Heck, I might have to get a second one bc of how fast he goes through the cardboard he loves it so much. One downside is the cardboard shavings on the ground, depending on your cat you might need to routinely check and clean the floor so they don't eat it. But that's an issue with any cardboard scratcher. It's easier to clean up with this scratching post, though, since they're all on the floor and not cluttered all over the horizontal cardboard scratching posts.
