Top Amazon Reviews

  • Good price/quality ratio. But be aware of what you are buying.
Color: Natural&white
I bought three of these in Natural/White: two of the 40 inch ones and one of the 22.75 inch ones. One of the larger ones and the smaller one are being used against a kitchen wall for extra storage; the additional larger one is being used as a center island. This is a 1950's kitchen that gets limited natural light and has soft-glow bulbs to round out the aesthetic (I mention that because it will be important later on). Overall price was just a bit North of $300. These were replacing hand-me-downs that I had held on to for far too long. The product(s) arrived well-packaged. Unpacking them was easy. All of the parts were in the box (including a few extra screws and plugs), as were the instructions. Said instructions were easy to decipher. While you need to supply a screw driver for some of the assembly, a trusty hex key/wrench is also supplied and needed for the bulk of the process. Overall assembly time for each product was approx. 40 minutes, with some breaks and what have you. What do I like? These have a nice, clean, design. They are made of solid wood (but more on that later). The top, which isn't a butcher block and shouldn't be used as a cutting board, is hefty enough. Once assembled, they don't have that wobble that a lot of other, particle board type of cheapo stuff, has. The drawers slide easily (but more on that later). Once placed where they needed to be, they gave off the look of far better kitchen furniture (esp. at a distance). Fine by me. What don't I like? Solid wood doesn't mean quality. So pay attention to the weight restrictions listed on the description, esp. as regards the lower two shelves. Because they are slat-style, there is a chance that placing too much weight on either shelf will lead to cracks/breaks. It probably would have been better if those shelves had a middle/cross-bracketing piece underneath them, given the brittle/thin slats. How do I know this? I placed an eight-bottle wine rack on the lowest shelf. In so doing and adjusting, I heard the faintest creak. When I checked, there was no clear break in the middle slat (at least viewing it from the top). But it did have more 'give' to it. That was fixed by placing a small block of spare wood underneath it as a brace (and, thankfully, it can't be seen). It is also the case that other parts also have very brittle wood, particularly the pieces that make up the drawers. So be careful screwing in the bolts, as even a slight mis-alignment can lead to some splitting. There is also a curious design flaw relating to the drawers. On the right hand side of the islands, there is no upper-screw used to secure the front panel to the side panels. As a result, once assembled, the drawers (on all three pieces) tend to shift to the left side of the island, creating a visible gap on the right side when you look at it straight-on. You can wiggle them to make them sit more flush. But opening and closing the drawers once again makes that gap on the right side apparent . . . until you wiggle it again. Not a deal-breaker (nor is the fact that, as others have noted, these are not high-quality drawers meant for heavy objects). But it is obvious if you are looking for it. Speaking of which, the white paint is not uniform. There are blemishes and rough spots. Again, if you are looking for those sorts of things, you will see them. A lot of them? No. But QC on this aspect of the production is clearly lacking. Thankfully, my kitchen doesn't have bright lights to spotlight those sorts of defects. Overall, I think most of the other reviews are fair. I would say, though, that some are not accurate or, perhaps, typical. The legs don't wobble. At least not on mine (and I realize that, given the QC issues noted above, that may vary). You complained about the height? How is that the seller's fault? The height is listed . . . and accurate. You clearly bought the wrong item and then complained about it here? Hmm. That's on you. You expected an heirloom quality product at this price? You were only kidding yourself. So don't take it out on the seller. Damage to the top, the legs, or any other part of it? You realize the seller doesn't send these to you in a custom built trailer that his parents drive to your door? I have to assume that most cases of damage occur in transit. So, whose fault? Amazon drivers (or those paid to deliver Amazon products). So you need to speak to Amazon about that and, hopefully, get replacement parts or a refund. But I can understand frustration if you are sent a product that was returned and then sent out again, or if you find pieces missing. This is a frustrating thing (has happened to me too). So, sigh, you again have to deal with customer service. But, from my experience, both sellers and Amazon are willing to help you resolve the issue . . . if you address it in a respectful manner. All in all, you get that for which you paid. In this instance, I feel good about the purchase. Just don't go in thinking "Wow, I got a deal" only to grumble about it later. I think most people will be okay with this product so long as they keep the price/quality ratio in mind. ... show more

  • Great product!
Color: Natural&white
I've been putting a great many pieces of furniture together. It is ,frankly, the one way to save money in these challenging times! Far to often the holes don't line up, or instructions are insane, or product arrives damaged and you find yourself repairing the product before to even start to put it together! I ordered two of these for my kitchen, arrive promptly, totally intact, and were absolutely a dream to put together! Took about two hours for both,. They are very sturdy, clean looking, great storage and are a great addition to my kitchen! Not that it should make a difference, but, I am 77 years old and a great grandma! ... show more

  • Just what I wanted and needed!
Color: Natural&white
This was very easy to put together. I'm 74 years old and did this by myself. Well, almost. I had help with attaching the top. It might have taken about an hour to do everything. I always make sure everything is in the box before I tackle put it together. It make everything so smoothly if you do this. This was totally what I needed in the kitchen for food prep. Since I don't have a lot of room for pots and pans, the two shelves are a lifesaver for me. My counter space is limited so this helps so much. ... show more

  • Good value for the price
Color: Natural&white
I join the thousands who have rated this kitchen island with five stars! It's terrific. Made in Thailand of real wood. No flaws. Took me about 1.5 hours to assemble. (Side panels and shelf racks went together quickly. Attaching the top board took the most time because the angles were awkward to work with. Drawer was not difficult.) Once all the screws were tightened everywhere, the drawer moved in and out smoothly. It's spacious enough for measuring spoons, low-profile measuring cups, spatulas, and more. The 36" height is great! Just right for me (5'6"). It's not high-end furniture to be sure, but for the price, I doubt you can do better. ... show more

  • Nice looking and sturdy
Color: Natural&white
Bought this for my daughter and her small kitchen with limited counter space. We added felt sliders and it sits near the window and easily is moved closer for meal prep. Plus some baskets in the shelves hold onions and potatoes and small appliances. Very nice looking.

  • Very Sturdy and Easy to Build
Color: Natural Maple Top, White Base (New)
This product was easy to build, I built it by myself in about 2 hours. It’s very sturdy and high quality. The color was spot on. It didn’t have a lingering wood smell either. I use this as a coffee bar and storage underneath. It is very versatile and convenient for my small kitchen

  • Very good buy
Color: Natural&white
I really like this island. My brother put it up for me in less than an hour. It actually completed my kitchen. I had it for almost a month and it seems sturdy. I also like that it's not hard to clean. Now I get to prepare my food like the chef I think iam 😁

  • Great island
Color: Natural&white
I really like this island. I wanted a dedicated food prep area and this is perfect. It stands a little higher than my cabinets and at first I thought it was weird but I’m used to it now. I put a few of my most used items on the shelves and in the drawer and I’m very happy with this purchase. It was also pretty easy for me to put together myself. ... show more
